While Ford was trying to get their 427 SOHC engine approved for NASCAR, Chrysler who did not want to lose their lead, showed their next step in Hemi evolution: A925 426 DOHC HEMI. Chrysler built one complete engine but it did not operate under it's own power. It used an electric motor to turn the components. The purpose of the engine was to push NASCAR into not approving Ford's 427 SOHC engine. If NASCAR approved it, then they would have to approve the A925. |
