This 70 Nova SS is powered by a big block with a little NOS. It is owned by J. Gamble.

They also have a "Cackle Fest" at this show. At noon they fire each of the participants up one at a time. There's a mix of Alcohol and Nitro dragsters and funny cars. They usually finished it off with Terry McMillen's Top Fuel dragster. There are always a few people who have never been around a TF dragster and are standing way to close when it fires up. It's always fun to watch them jump as there're wiping Nitro fumes out of their eyes.

Here are a few pictures I took at the AACA shows in Auburn IN over the last couple of years. This 61 Impala SS convertible is a 340 horse 348 with a 4 speed. The owner said it was an original SS. It was owned by B. Thompson.

This is R. Reichenbach's 61 Corvette fuelie. I'm not sure if it is a factory heavy-duty brake car or not.

This Grotto Blue 68 Camaro RS/SS still has its original L78 block that is backed by an M20. This car was a Gold Concours winner at MCACN in '16. It is owned by C. Long.

This Palomar Red 63 Impala SS is a factory 425 horse car. B. Thompson had it at the show.

This Dark Bronze Metallic 69 Daytona was sold new at Bill Breck Dodge in Colorado Springs CO. It is a 440 car with a 4 speed and 3.54 gears. R. Fleener had this car at the show.

This Stratomist Blue 71 GSX is a 455 car with an automatic. T. Cryan had this car at the show.

This Midnight Blue 61 Impala SS was originally a 348 car that was upgraded with a 409 when it was restored. It used to be owned by T. Nolan. R. Street had it at the show.

Yes it was a factory big brake car, we bought it from Marie (his widow) last summer.

Here are some pictures from the Mecum auction in Indianapolis in '20. All selling prices listed are before fees. This Fawn Beige fuel injected 62 Corvette is 1 of 246 built with RPO 687 Heavy Duty brakes. This car sold for $105K. It previously sold for $140K at Mecum Kissimmee in '19.

This Elkhart Blue 67 Corvette roadster is an L71 car that is unrestored and has only 8K miles. It is a Bloomington Gold Benchmark car. It was bid to $175K.

This Tuxedo Black 67 Corvette coupe was sold new at Dueck on Broadway in Vancouver BC. It is documented with a tank sticker and is also a NCRS Top Flight and Bloomington Gold winner. This car was bid to $310K.

This Rally Red 68 Corvette roadster is an L71 car that was sold new at Vincent Chevrolet in Ypsilanti MI. This car still has its original drivetrain and tank sticker. It was at MCACN in '18 and was a Triple Diamond winner. It sold for $95K.

This Can Am White 69 L88 Corvette convertible is a Bloomington Gold and NCRS Duntov winner. It has 46K miles and is documented with a tank sticker. It was being sold as a package with a British Green 69 L88 Corvette. Together they were bid to $700K.

The Elkhart car “Elkie as named by my wife” is at home in Texas now. It’s an amazing car with a Validated tank sticker, it has a POP, also. It has Al Grenning pad, tank sticker and trim tag verification.

This Cortez Silver 70 ZR-1 Corvette convertible is 1 of 25 built and was sold new at Yenko Chevrolet. This car sold for $118K.

This Regal Red 66 Impala was sold new at Batey Chevrolet in Carnegie PA. This car still has its original engine. This car was previously owned by Tommy Nolen and was featured in Super Chevy. It sold for $70K.

This Ermine White 66 Chevelle SS is an L35 car with a Powerglide. It has a bench seat interior with a column shifter. It has its original engine and was formerly owned by Charlie Ragland. It sold for $40K.

This Fathom Blue 70 Chevelle SS convertible was sold new at Hult Chevrolet in Madison WI. It's my understanding that this car has its original drivetrain and two original build sheets. I've seen this car at a number of auctions over the years. It didn't sell at Indy in '20, but it did sell for $350K at Kissimmee in '21.

This Dover White 69 Z/28 was purchased new at H&H Chevrolet in Omaha NB by Roger Jirke. This car is certified by CHP to be an original X77 Z/28 according to the add. It was bid to $90K.

This 69 Trans Am convertible was sold new at Arnold Pontiac in Houston PA. It is 1 of 1 with a Parchment interior. This car was purchased by Ted Gallas in the mid 70's. At the time it had a big block Chevy in it and he didn't know it was a Trans Am. He later found out what it was and restored it in the late '70's. He wrote in to Hod Rod magazine telling them about the car and his letter was published in the September '79 issue. This car was later part of Brett Torino's collection and was among a group of cars that Dana Mecum purchased from him. It was on display at this auction with a number of other rare cars.
