Not sure where to get them from or who makes them that look the most original. I'm assuming original ones are hard to find and expensive. Kurt |
Re: SOLD my 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan
I'm having my front end parts sand blasted. I took the brake dust shields and the caliper mounting brackets up to Zinc Inc. in Slinger, WI to get zinc plated.
It only took about an hour and the parts were done. The brackets weren't sand blasted exactly like they should have been (they didn't remove all the old zinc plating) and where the old plating was, it was darker in color so I had them spray some cold galvanizing paint on it. I figured this isn't a concours restoration so it will be fine for the Blue Bomber. It cost me $10 to get the parts sand blasted and $20 to plate them. Now I'm waiting for the other parts to get sand blasted and I will paint them. I busted my hump this week and with help from a few friends we got the front suspension back on.

Re: SOLD my 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan
A huge thanks goes out to my buddies that helped and especially Dan Vasic as it seems like I text or call him EVERY time I work on it.
This is the first time it's sat on the ground since December 22nd. I took it around the block today and it steers a hell of a lot better than it did. I take it to get the front end aligned tomorrow morning. Kurt https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...edmbu0ndqz.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...edhoqco2k0.jpg |
Re: SOLD my 1969 SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan
I am having problems with the front hold down clip for the master cylinder.
Every one I've tried is either not tall enough or not wide enough. Any thoughts or solutions to my dilemma? Thanks, Kurt https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...edlbq7mwr7.jpg |
