Simon
good luck on the sale. I hope it goes to a person that will restore the car to the standard that it deserves. PJ https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: 68 Yenko Barn find
I have just received some cool paper work for the yenko , the original log book (title), the last mot (english vehicle safety certificate) and a fuel ration book for large engine cars, i have also found out that the car was put in storage in 1973 not 1972 , i think this is the only 68 yenko with english paper work, it even says yenko on the log book !

Re: 68 Yenko Barn find
all this fake paper work sucks , its ruined the hobby for all the honest enthusiasts.

Re: 68 Yenko Barn find
Hi my first post on here,i am in england,an know a little about this car,i knew the guy who used to own it,ive never seen it,but heard about it,i have personally seen the ford lightweight,so i suspect the yenko was in the unit!-that paperwork is all legit (the MOT cert was issued by a repair shop very close to where the owner lived)-the fuel ration book is not related to that car, they wre only used after WW2 for a few years
|
Re: 68 Yenko Barn find
Hey Bry ,
The ration book probably does belong to that car . Petrol rationing was reintroduced in 73 and although never enforced everybody with a relevant vehicle got a ration book in the mail , was a government knee jerk reaction to the 3 day week and huge price increase in the cost of crude oil . Now show these guys some pics of your SS396 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif |
Re: 68 Yenko Barn find
Hey Stitch !-yep your right,i forgot about that,Ron it most probably does belong to that car, whilst i was at "that place"the was tantalizing talk of a white 69 yenko ,but it never got past knowing smiles/glances,i spoke to a guy a few days ago who may know the full story,he asked me down for a "coffee and a chat"-think i might just take him up on that offer!
I would put up pic's of my car but im crap with computors -cant work out how to do it-stupid English nitwit |

Re: 68 Yenko Barn find
Thank you Charley ... I absolutely can not believe the conditions that those 2 cars were found in. Does anyone know if the "Lightweight" survived and was brought back to life?
|
Re: 68 Yenko Barn find
I don't think Simon did anything on the lightweight.
|
Re: 68 Yenko Barn find
its great to see such an important car restored to such a high caliber!
