Why would the seller of this car do his homework to see what kind of car you are looking for? He offered a car for sale and you called him. In my opinion, him answering the phone is all the homework he needed to do. I'm pretty sure he was not sitting at his computer reading all the wanted ads here trying to guess who would call about the car. Just my opinion. James |

Re: Details 1969 396 375hp SS Nova 19,538 miles *D
Here is the story of the Engines.(Owner 1 & owner 2) 1 I told you sold the orig engine to to his buddy down the alley when 1 got the 427 Vette motor when the car was weeks old. 2 had the impala with a small motor. When 1 wanted to go faster with a bigger motor (think a built 468) 2 told me he got the 427 Vette motor and put it in the Impala. When 1 died and willed the Nova to 2 , 2 put the 427 Vette motor back in the Nova(took out the 468) and bought a 1999 502 crate motor for the Impala. Can u guy understand what I'm trying to explain here?

Re: Details 1969 396 375hp SS Nova 19,538 miles
#2 loves his Impala, had it for 45 years, but when #2 died he promised he would put the 427 Vette motor in the Nova and clean up the car. One more thing #1 asked before his passing was to bring the car to his grave and lay down the best rubber it could. So #2 is pretty much done with #1 requests and I was finally abel to acquire the car. I knew of this car for some time but wasn't able to close the deal, till now.

[/ QUOTE ] That's really not a rosewood wheel....this is the woodgrain trim (really decals) that was an option on 69 cars...I have seen it in lots of Camaros and full size (I think)...don't believe it was really an option for Novas...not much work to install the wood grain on a std. black wheel. wilma |

John,
This car is absolutely awesome! I wish I would have found it! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif I can't wait to see this car in person. John, just so you know, the address for Brigance on the window sticker is the storage lot that all of the new cars were delivered to because of lack of room at the dealership. Here is where the car came home to. 841 N. Kenilworth |

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks for coming around and not being upset anymore. We are all car lovers on these boards. I'll even put out the OLIVE BRANCH out there for you to take. We'll call John P. have him bring the " Nova II TUFF" car out to my restuarant "STRAT's 50's Diner" and I'll buy you a great lunch!!!! Then we'll go out side and see the car, you'll probabably feel like pukeing some great food after seeing the condition of the car though! LOL https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif |

Strat, I usually don't get involved in anymore negative crap on sYc, and have laid low for at least the past two years on this site. With that said, I have met you and you are a cool dude. At first I didn't believe that was even you acting like this. Why don't you just give it a rest. You sold the car and got your dough. John got a cool car and that is that. Please don't give this car a bad vibe like some families have done to their family name in this hobby because of not letting it go.
End of story. |

That memorabilia from Brigance is just as exciting for the car. What a display you can do with that stuff for the " NOVA II TUFF" Nova that John has now! I think John should talk to you. I can see it now at Spring VETTE FEST.

Re: Details 1969 396 375hp SS Nova 19,538 miles *D
I told John to think about the future of the car. Which way to go.
Does he go back to factory specs. Or does he keep the drive train in(427 m-22 dana 60) and go nostalgia drag look. Old drag car style is less work, just add Lettering, 10 inch Cragars and headers with some cherry bomb exhaust! Original factory look can be alot of labor for John. Plus drag car style can be fun at the strip! |
