Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Wow, just checked again, and just today they added details re: individual items. Here's a link to the page with info on the engines, including VINs for some of them!

Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
That LS-6 is very near Red Alert. Likely built same day or on either side of it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Here is one of the engines listed as a COPO. Wasn't this car just discussed here recently?

Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Yes, that COPO engine belongs in the Yenko Camaro shown on the site.

So we'll all be waiting on the story with Larry. [/ QUOTE ] Ok - here's the rest of the story. Last Friday night as we were talking Larry inquired as to why I'm into classic cars and I tell him it's not just old cars I'm into it's all that stuff...old jukeboxes, car parts, beer memorabilia and etc...so he tells me to save some pics. We walk back to his other shop and he shows me this room (click me) and it has some old gas pumps, old toys and old peanut roasting machine, soda fountains and other neat stuff...and this old Whizzer Motorcycle which I figured you guys would like cause you guys talk about these old motors and this one is still new with the price tag . After checking out this room he takes me through another door to his party room pic 1 pic 2 pic 3 pic 4 pic 5 and I melted...I don't know who was smiling bigger, myself or Larry because of the smile on my face. I know it's not another big car story but I thought I'd share this stuff you all because I'm sure you guys think its SUPERcool as well. I'm glad I got to meet Larry and he is one of the nicest guys I have met. Oh - I was at Larry's last night for a garage session (party) he was having and in his body shop was a nova front clip with 350 badging but as far as I know a car to put it on has not been found yet. |
Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Damn that man is in it!
Show that Whizzer pic to Kwhizz when he comes back next week. I like that full ECO air meter station w/light. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif |

Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
I'm guessing Heartbeat City bought the stuff. The buyer would need to be in the business to deal with all those parts. Dealing with all that stuff would mean a life change for someone not already in the business.

Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
I heard it went for some crazy money???? I did not see those kind of dollars there but who knows? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Rick,
What were you thinking the current maket value of the Lot is? |
Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Interesting observation, Rick. I know I was surprised when I looked at the list of engines and saw lots of truck motors. Its not as though everything was rare and desirable.

Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Stephano,
What it was worth and what I would have been willing to pay are two different things. If you were a Corvette collector, you would have been in heaven. I was just hoping for more Chevelle and Camaro stuff then there was. Much of the parts were also later release items and not all that valuable. The engines for the most part were also not H/P and as was stated were mostly truck blocks. Still very cool collection and Larry was a super guy and very accomadation. I have a local friend who likely has a larger collection mostly comprised of Chevelle and Camaro parts. Thats what gets my heart pumping. Rick |
Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Exactly alot of the stuff was replacement parts with later date codes... however the early big brake Vettes and parts would be worth a fortune to some guys.
|
Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
does anyone know who bought the stuff yet or rumors of what they gave. I would have loved to just go see all of the stuff.

Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Here's what I just saw posted on there web site.
*****UPDATE***** At this point we have not found a buyer for the whole lot of cars and parts. We would like to thank all that have visited and inquired about the cars and the parts. We have been truly blessed to meet so many people who share the love of cars that we have. We have received many calls, emails, and letters about the cars and parts. We have tried to respond to as many as possible in a timely fashion. While we still have a few interested parties in the whole lot, this is a large lot and it makes for a complex transaction. If nobody buys the whole lot, we will sell some of the cars and the parts will be sold individually. For many items this is the only fair way to sell them as we have had multiple inquiries on many of the parts. If we do end up selling the items individually, we will start listing on Ebay Friday night, December 30. We will post on this website when we know more. |
Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Hello everyone and Happy Holidays ! Newbie on this board and just wanted to chime in my experience on this find.
When I spoke to Larry about two weeks ago I had made arrangements to fly to Green Bay from California. There was a link to this thread on Team Camaro where I am a member. When I checked this thread out I discovered that Larry was taking bids. My impression was that I could go there and make a firm deal to purchase, not just look and then have to bid . I cancelled my trip as I did not want to participate in that kind of deal.Larry was very nice on the phone. I spoke to him many times. He told me the two 57 Corvettes were not for sale as two of the family members of the previous owner wanted those cars back.He indicated to me that he would sell the lot for somewhere between 1mm and 1.1 million . My interest was in the Yenko only. I have a friend who is a caretaker for a large car collection in N. California that was going to take the rest of the collection...all I want is a real 1969 , 427 Camaro...is that too much to ask https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif ? |

Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
...I heard someone in Maryland bought it all and will be listing alot of it on Ebay...anyone else hear that? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
Who ended up w/the Yenko?
|
Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
The whole story was displayed in the new issue of Hot Rod so it's public knowledge now. The article showed the Yenko but did not say if it was sold.
Paul |
Re: Just saw this in Old Cars Weekly
I was told by Larry that the Yenko was one of the cars that the new owner wanted to keep, but that most of the parts would be sold off, preferably as a lot.
