Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
You would not want this around a swimming pool. It would be way too slick to walk on with wet feet. The best and ONLY thing you want around a pool is "Kool Deck".
I am in the swimming pool business. So, anyone that is planing on building a pool, please let me know and I will give you a few pointers before you start construction. That way you can be sure that are done at the correct time frame that they need to be done in to have a quality job. Pantera |
Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
You sell this stuff? Whats it cost? and what about prep?
|
Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
I can sell you the Kool Deck materials, but the shipping cost is too high for you to save any money. I can arrange for you to pick it up if you want to do a deck around a pool. It is too soft for a garage floor.

Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
Looks like I've still got garage floor homework to do.
Pantera - We are building a pool so any suggestions would be appreciated. Vegas - hit one $5,500 Royal Flush and threw one out due to a brain fart and nearby cleavage. Idiot!! Could have bought a C5R short block with the losses. I'll get 'em next time! |
Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
Did she at least Comp ya? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif http://forum-images.hardware.fr/imag...hot%20link.gif

Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
Six nights comped. Expensive free nights though. Dinner at Prime (steaks) too but not much more. Bellagio doesn't comp like they used to. Wynn flopping is not helping the matter. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif
|
Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
Wynn is flopping ?
|
Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
No character. Over-priced everything....even for Wynn. $500 green's fees. Few video poker machines. Not in the middle of the strip.
Oh he's making money, but the property is is not what many people expected. Virtually nobody left Bellagio to work for him. His right-hand man who could make Wynn's ideas a reality stayed with Bellagio. Many people who worked on different stages of the project quit and many more now refuse to work for him again as he designs his new tower. |
Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
Ok, y'all have had almost a year to digest your floor coating options, and see how they're gonna wear...so let's revisit this, because we have a 6000 sq/ft slab going down any day now! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif
I've seen concrete polishing, concrete staining, all the epoxy coatings...so what do people have, and what's not gonna cost us an arm & leg? |
Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
My Lowes epoxy is still down but I'm holding my breath.

How 'bout some vinyl compostion tile?
|
Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
Joe,
Though commonly used, VCT tile is not recommended for garage floor useage. It stains very easily from petroleum based products and subfloor (concrete) staining due to moisture. If insisted upon, a calcium cloride (moisture pressure) test should be performed on the concrete and an epoxy adhesive used. After install, cars should be parked on a (non petroleum based) pad as the tires will leave a stain. VCT uses vinyl in their make up and that is where the problem lies at it is very easily stained. Fritztile makes a tile that is made up of stone, slate, marble, etc chips held together with a resin and is less susceptible to staining (or at least being able to see the stain). https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Rick |
Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
I like these cool floors but why have they not figured out a product a guy can sweep out the goobers of dirt and bolts and slop some paint all around and have it bite into the concrete and stay...https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
seems like to much work and dollars and a hail mary for it to stay if you do it in a shop that was really used as such before painting they have it for rusty steel, slap some Hammerite on and it stays for years with no hassle or sighns of failure... |
Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
I'm kind of looking at concrete staining now...it actually penetrates the concrete, so if you take a small chip out of the concrete, the remaining hole should be the same color as the rest of the floor...or so they say...https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
post up what you find,Quick!...I have been thinking heavy on doing the floor at the old shop before I move back in.
|
Re: What's the latest on garage floors??
I'm working on it! I had an outfit over in Springfield quote me $2/sq.ft for them to do it, so I'm pretty certain the DIY'ers like you/I can do it a lot cheaper...supposedly Sherwin-Williams sells the concrete stain/sealer kits, but I'm still trying to confirm that...
