Tommy, maybe you could get Marlin, or Mike to drive one. Then you could do that side by side test. S. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

Mike, you can save it as a Quicktime clip and upload it to your webspace or a host site. Then just link the URL here.

Re: Another Yenko Deuce has a new owner!!

After seeing and driving this car, it is 1000% better than what we expected! This car is the best a/t reference Deuce existing.

These a/t deuces are a blast to drive, I was very surprised. The transmission shifts at 7300 rpm for the 1-2 change, and almost 8000 for the 2-3 change, what a blast! I can't wait till TommyK tunes it up and puts some higher octane fuel into it, this car rocks.

BTW: TommyK says it's coming to SCR8 - and he's racing it. Judging by the timeslips that came with the car from the early '70's - I won't be making any grudge match appearance against that car https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Hey Marlin, Another car that saw action in DAY-2 trim!! What they were meant for. Re: Another Yenko Deuce has a new owner!!

What's 'Day2' about that car? It's still got the original exhaust, 2 resonators and a crossflow with the manifolds. Original fan, carb, distributor, alt, shifter, wheels, and no traction bars! That car ran very consistent 13.80's and 13.90's back in the day - stock!

Day 2 will never happen to my car https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif With a smokey like that from a Day1 car, who needs Day2?

That is pretty fast Marlin. I didn't know that it ran in pretty much pure stock trim back then. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif But....one thing don't ever say never. Well I guess you can say that cause you ARE pretty stubborn! Wait till Benjamin gets that car, and the headers that are down the basement. Heck, He told me he was going to put a wing on the back, when your not looking. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif

Sam is one persistent buddy https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif After hearing two other deuces on Saturday running through the headers, he has a convincing argument, especially when you are in upstate PA where it's very quiet - 'cept for the rumble of a deuce on headers https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: Another Yenko Deuce has a new owner!!

Yes, it's a gobi beige, a/t, p/s, deuce sold new at Stocker Chev. in State College, PA. It is one of 8 gobi automatics, and one of 4 automatics with power steering. The current owner has owned it since '74, and enjoys driving it regularly - and doesn't baby it https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Super nice guys, a very enjoyable weekend https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

I had an opportunity to meet the trio of Deuce owner that day. The weather was beautiful as well as the cars. Marlin had mentioned that this may have been the first time two GB Deuces have been photographed together. All three were in fine tune just waiting to light their tires up. As always Marlin graciously put together and presented the owners with notebooks full of information pertaining to the Yenko Deuce. This was quite an interesting group, who had smiles on their faces the whole day.

What a great sight.
OK, I guess that I will be the first to ask - In the 'rear' shot of the cars, why does the Deuce on the right have the stripes stop short?

Steve Shauger 10-29-2004 03:59 PM

Re: Another Yenko Deuce has a new owner!!

The owner when he repainted the car and restriped it, like that look, although that is incorrect.

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY 10-29-2004 04:42 PM

Re: Another Yenko Deuce has a new owner!!

Steve is correct, the owner decided that he liked the stripes better if they stopped at the decklid, simple as that! The owner bought the car in '74 +/- at age 18, and has absolutely no wish to ever sell the car. He has two sons, who also thoroughly enjoy the car, and I'm sure it will be passed down to them.

An interesting item on the gobi beige a/t deuce. Several years ago the someone tried to give the left front centercap a real good cleaning. In the process they rubbed off a good portion of the 'Y', allowing the Magnum 500 insert to show through. Pic coming soon https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif
