Re: Site with some good parts
I dont see why the local police in St. Pete could not get involved in this and simply pick this guy up when he goes to this new address to collect money. Maybe we should all make a deal with him, and send him a sympathy card instead of money, and when he stops by to pick up the money, the local PD should be able to apprehend him. Whatcha think??My only fear in dealing with this guy, is that he will disappear now that he knows he has been marked here and other sites, only to re-appear later under another alias. After emailing with some people that contacted me about the ebay deals gone bad, I feel sure this is the same guy. He went by the name "Frank Langston" when he used ebay.

Re: Site with some good parts
OK, folks...Someone's gotta have some prior purchases with this fellow! Mail fraud thru ANY carrier in the US is a Federal Offense! Whether it is a private carrier or a publicly traded entity doing delivery services, the US Gov't will prosecute upon submitting thorough proof of the issue at hand...

Re: Site with some good parts
Ok, lets figure this out a little...There must be some of us better than myself who can research the listing here.
My take: www.PARTZSURPLUS.COM upon attempting to cantact this individual, you are re- directed to: www.STORESbySTATE.COM www.STORESbySTATE.COM appears to me to be a listing belonging to: www.ABILITYONLINE.COM www.ABILITYONLINE.COM There to me seems to be no posting of this webhost's physical address on that home page at all! There is a 1-800-407-7770 contact number posted there! I wonder if we all call to submit our concerns to this entity, www.ABILITYONLINE.COM about one of it's customers apparent business transactions? Im even seeing his use of the Chevrolet "BOWTIE"; isn't that a copywrited logo? This is just my current thoughts on this situation.. As well, wouldnt all of this attention here on this site and fellow car enthusiast's chatter here getting his attention????? [ QUOTE ]
I forwarded funds via a well know carrier and the envelope was delivered on a front porch. However, the front porch address that it was delivered to in no way the address I sent it to. Iím investigating as to how the delivery driver knew to forward this envelope to a different address [/ QUOTE ] so he must have local help getting his mail, federal offense again???? It would seem easy to find the delivery person and turn them over to the law for some simple questions??? |

Re: Site with some good parts
Well, it looks like this thing was a scam. A bunch of guys are starting to post on Team Chevelle that their checks have been cashed and they have not received the parts. Man...I almost sent him $2,000! Thank goodness the pics caused me to question whether this was legit or not. Sorry, to those who got burned

Re: Site with some good parts
sounds like they can do a group action deal with a local law firm to go after him

Re: Site with some good parts
Who wants to take a road trip? I'm just a college kid, but I've been in my fair share of fights, and I have a couple of rather large buddies that would like to help. Nothing more than a thorough beating could help this guy. It's people like him that give ebayers bad names! I'd go kick his a$$ if I had the time! Somebody has to catch this guy and stop 'em!

Re: Site with some good parts
Good diggin' Chevy454! I just started on it, but my time keeps me from doing everything I feel responsible to do.
Quite possibly, I was thinking that this information, whatever we all can put together, could possibly help assist those who have been taken in the past! I've been taken before, we all have experinced some dissatisfaction at one point or another...Let's keep digging and see what more can arise out of this! It's been confirmed that some checks were cashed in North Carolina by someone named Diane Sharp.
Sure makes you think twice when you see those identify theft commercials. |
Re: Partzsurplus victim? What to do next.
I just copied this from the Team Chevelle message board.
James posted 11-19-2003 10:48 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have contacted L.A. Latham of the US Postal Mail Fraud division. I gave him all my information. He requested that anyone else that has lost money fill out the mail fraud form at this address: https://www.usps.com/postalinspector...dComplaint.htm He said that they need to know where the people scammed are located and they would probably need to turn it over to the Abingdon VA division office. So please fill out the form. I'm calling the Abingdon Police right now. Lets stick together and get these guys!!!!!!!!!!! Trooper |

Re: Partzsurplus victim? What to do next.
Find out if anyone from Canada(and I think there was) got scammed and it becomes international. I just hope they can catch the people before they spend or hide the money they got. Even if they are caught, don't get your hopes up about getting money back because they usually hide it or spend it.

I came over from the chevelle site, GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A postal inpector is investigating this guy. I just got off the phone with him. His name is Lee Edwards and his phone number is 813-281-5209. His e-mail is He wants to speak with anyone who has been scammed by this guy. Apparently that house in Florida was recently vacant (not proven yet) and now is occupied. The people that sent stuff out delivery confirmation and is showing as being returned are more than likely getting there money back. They had previous complaints, so started holding all the mail to that address with "Franks" name. PLEASE contact the inspector with any and all info some of you may have been doing on your own. This was posted on the Team Camaro site and thought I would let all here see it. <font color="red">partzsurplus burned me
posted 04-07-2004 08:13 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Great News! I just received a letter today in the mail from the U.S. Department of Justice that D. Mark Pentrack better known to us all as Frank Cummings pleaded guilty on March 24, 2004 to Mail Fraud; Misuse of a Social Security Number; Destruction of Evidence; and Making False Statements to the Government. His sentence date is June 14, 2004 at 2:00pm and the U.S. Attorney's office is looking for any victims who wish to make victim impact statements which will be heard in court on that date. I would like to personally thank all of you guys who took part in our thread last year since much of our investigation work was used to nail this guy. Even those who were not taken by this guy contributed significantly. Some of you guys I owe a beer to. Remember to catch me at a show. It is important that we all continue to put a stop to people like this as well as people selling fake and/or falsely stated muscle cars to unsuspecting hard working people. Thanks again, Hylton M. Re: Site with some good parts/ update on PartPlus
There were 4 other people involved in this crime. They are still to get their day in court. They were also scamming other hobbies and businesses. Our Frank Cummings had about 10 different aliases.
What happened with respect to our scam was this: Alias Frank Cummings had put an ad in the local Virgina paper looking for someone who was interested in part time work doing mailings. He then hired an old lady (who was really a victim herself) to collect all the checks/mail and forward it to a South Carolina address. He then started to reel everyone in by advertising on all the popular websites. He did a great job at setting up a website with the parts for sale and copied pictures from the web and published them as his own when people asked to see pictures of the product. People would then send the money to the little old lady in Virgina who would forward everything to an address in South Carolina. There, an accomplice would cash all the checks. He was in Utah all that time running the scam from there. We were on him quickly enough and got the police enough evidence and leads which resulted in the arrest and guilty plea. It is expected that he will get at least 10 years. This was proof that victims can do something about internet fraud. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif Hylton Jorssen |
