I've only met a few of you guys over the years, say hi if you see a 57 year old guy who people say looks like Kevin Spacey. I'll wear camo pants too to help.

In that sea of people, pants are not visible. Maybe a bright pink hat would be noticeable...
If you're there on Friday, wander back to the Vintage area, with the 4 post lifts, and say hi. When you come down the steps from the entry, turn right and walk until you hit a wall LOL

Mitch is easy to spot...he's the one that Steve and the rest of the Certification crew are working like a rented mule.:beers:

Hello all-I've been talking with Steve Shauger about the planned informal meet and greet for Yenko.net members and fans. Steve is going to set me up with some name tags for us to identify ourselves with and I will plan to be in the awards area near Vintage Certification on SATURDAY from 11am to 12 noon and be the host. First official usage of that area is the Shelby talk at 1, so we should be clear for folks to mingle, put names to faces, and make the event even that much better. Swing by when you can, for as long as you can, it's all good. See you all Saturday. -Tom Breske aka tom406

SS427 11-21-2024 01:23 PM

I will be there to get a name tag. Our annual reunion which is the reason I go to the show.

Lynn 11-21-2024 01:59 PM

I will definitely be getting a name tag. Looking forward to seeing some of you guys face to face.

chevyman0429 11-21-2024 05:47 PM

Yup Ill be up for a name tag as well!

Andy 11-21-2024 08:15 PM

I should be rolling in around 12 to 1 on Saturday. My flight from Atlanta lands at 10:50. I'll have to wait on the hotel shuttle to pick me up. I'm at the Crown, which I believe is across the street from the convention center? My first year attending and I can't wait to see the show and meet some of you all!

dykstra 11-21-2024 08:35 PM

We will be at the bar in Gibsons for the majority of Friday night with the usual suspects. You know who you are! Lol

Lynn 11-22-2024 02:43 AM

For us knuckleheads who don't know, where is Gibsons?

dykstra 11-22-2024 02:53 AM

Gibsons Steakhouse is right across the street from the MCACN show. It’s in the Double Tree hotel.

L78_Nova 11-22-2024 01:03 PM

Gibson's is worth the trip..... even from Winnipeg !!!!

Pro Stock John 11-23-2024 09:47 PM

Nice chatting with Dykstra, Tenney, Steve Shauger and a whole bunch of Chicago locals.

Another great show.

LetsFNgo 11-24-2024 12:40 AM

I’m sorry that I missed the little meetup. Met a few members which was awesome and I’m having a great time at the show.

R68GTO 11-24-2024 11:52 AM

It was nice to meet a few members only known to me by their SYC handle - Thanks Tom406 for organizing it!

TimG 11-25-2024 12:24 PM

What a great event, and I got to meet a few of the members here.

68camaroz28 11-25-2024 12:59 PM

Great show again and sorry I missed many of you but did see and meet many of our car friends. Quite busy on Saturday with all the activities.

Me as well. I know Dave made it over there to meet with others. We had a pretty steady stream of friends old and new stopping by our space and unfortunately I didn't get out much to see others. One of the highlights for us was being invited to dinner Saturday night by Tenney and his group which included Carl Bolander (a previous Owner of our 409) and Dru. In addition to being able to partake at Gibson's two nights in a row - we really enjoyed the conversations.

We intentionally used the early vendor entry time on Sunday to try and take in as many cars as we could and glad we did. Another great show by Bob and crew - I say this every year but how he still finds 500+ excellent cars every year is beyond impressive.

See you all next year.

----As usual, You two kept Stretch, I, and others taken care of hunger wise (also those great cookies) thanks to your great Mom, of course!....Bill S

@RPO LS3, you were the guy that Steve intro'd me to I think?

I saw some faces walking around but didn't want to bug ya if you were deep in conversation.

What do the volunteers do, help set up the railings, carpet, move cars around?

Lynn, you and I have some similarities.

I remember we had a meal together years ago with my son and you explained that you do everything with your wife, and you have an awesome tow vehicle, and you bought a muscle bike from Mark Meldrum…. Guess where I got my muscle bike???? From Mark :-)

Darn we missed each other at MCACN!!! (I got so sidetracked with the MSU Project W31 car)

Thanks to everyone who chatted. Apologies to all who came at 11 and couldn't identify the meeting spot. I tried to be conspicuous in my Green Yenko branded shirt, but there were a number of people hanging out/resting in the area. I was able to use the PA system around 11:30 to call people together, but I'm sure some had moved on by then. Steve Shauger and I discussed the logistics after the fact and it will be more organized and deliberately gathered in the future. It's a sound concept and goal- the folks I met were just as personable and solid in person as they are online. Thanks to R68GTO, Lynn, Dykstra, LS6owner and all the others who were patient and found us.

Too Many Projects 11-27-2024 07:44 PM

I, for 1, can never understand what is being said over the PA. I was standing behind the Vintage Cert table and thought that was where you would have people meet right in front of that. The discussions going on on the stage was news to us, as Steve had looked at the schedule and didn't see anything.

Charley Lillard 11-28-2024 01:23 AM

I just watched that video of Lynn buying the bike and his running away from home story. I suggest scrolling up and watching the interview. Good story Lynn.

Lynn 11-28-2024 01:30 AM

Getting ready to post the long version of the story.

Pro Stock John 11-28-2024 01:39 AM

Just watched the video, great story!

Steve Shauger 11-28-2024 01:46 AM

Lynn, great meeting you at the show. Congratulations on purchasing the bike. Now it is time to relive the journey to Lawton! Thanks for sharing that fantastic story...

Lynn 11-28-2024 01:55 AM

Just realized that Mark (72convertibless454) posted on here.

Thanks Mark. You made this MCACN especially memorable for me.
