I asked Scott when I stopped over. He just roughly cleaned up the bowls and those were spots in the chamber he hasn’t touched yet. When he does the final port and cleanup work those spots won’t be there.

Not much of an update. But I can post a couple of pictures from today. The car is getting a full feature in Hemmings because of how happy they were with the article on my SC/Rambler. John the photographer is coming Monday to shoot all the photos. Rather than shoot this car inside he wants to shoot it outside at a couple of industrial or abandoned buildings. The spot I’m most looking forward to is I got approval to take photos in front of California Speed and Sport in New Brunswick NJ, the oldest still operating speed shop on the East Coast. Marty and I took a ride around today to take test photos of where we’re shooting Monday. Marty loves riding in this car and we ended up spending a couple of hours at the skate park. He loves it there.
Thanks for reading. Hopefully I’ll have a stroker engine update and an update Monday when the photographer shows up. |
Way cool!!

That is a super rare car. Congrats on bringing it back from the dead.

Yesterday evening I did the photo shoot for Hemmings. We ended up doing all of the photos at California Speed and Sport. It worked at well because it was overcast yesterday so we didn’t have to fight with the sun.
Enjoy the photos from the shoot. I also have 1 of the Hi Res photos because John stayed up all night processing all of them. But I may have to post that in a separate post. |

Attempting to post one of the professional photos.
I was able to upload it but had to lower its quality. Hopefully it still looks good. |
Congrats on the upcoming feature, and I love that old concrete street marker sign at the corner of the speed shop building!

Probable last post on the SC360 for 2025.
Car is put away in the garage for the winter. Beginning to order parts to make it nicer in 2026. The rear suspension badly needs a rebuild. The left rear leaf spring has basically given up and sits 1.5” lower than the right side. Along with the springs the shackles will get rebushed and cleaned/painted. Both doors need complete rebuilds with all rubbers and hinges. Along with replacing the carpet and finally installing a shifter boot so hot air isn’t constantly blowing on me when driving. I put some miles on the car this summer and that got old fast. Though it didn’t stop me from driving it. The stroker engine is coming along, unfortunately I ran into issues with my crank machinist and had to repossess my crank from him last week. Hopefully by next week it’ll be in the mail to Michigan to be cut by a guy who’s done this job before, and for cheaper than what my local guy was going to charge me. Marty loves this car, and I really want to work on it to make it safer and more reliable so we can take a ton of road trips in this as he gets older. Probably not in 2026, but in 2027 I’d also like to do bodywork and repaint it in its original C1 Golden Lime Metallic. I’ve seen AMX’s done in this color, and it’s stunning when done right. Thanks for reading. Will update when stroker 360 stuff happens. But otherwise the car is tucked away for now. |
