We're only five weeks away from SCR 23 and everything is looking GREAT! Covid19 restrictions are easing up and the reservations coming in are starting to reflect that.
Here's where we stand at the moment: The Host Hotel, the Holiday Inn University Plaza, is preparing things as they have in the past. The Thursday evening "Meat 'n Greet" meal is under control, guided by Mr. Jason Ball. There will be porta-pottys on the grounds in the paddock area and security is provided for trailer parking on Thursday and Friday nights. The Holiday Inn has extended the pre-registration date AND made a few more rooms available in the SCR block. Beech Bend Raceway Park is open and ready to welcome us on Friday, July 24th. Not only will we have the drag strip for the day, we're also ready to host the first SCR Autocross for the YENKO STINGER Corvair group. The National Corvette Museum is open and will have plenty of room for our Banquet on Friday evening and the Indoor Show on Saturday, July 25th. The National Corvette Museum has also arranged for us to have additional space in their Boulevard Area to display the Feature Cars of SCR 23, The YENKO STINGERs and the YENKO DEUCEs. We have our Guest Speaker for the Friday Banquet and this week we have confirmed our SCR 23 Honoree. That person will be announced very shortly. The event shirt is at the printer and we'll give you a glimpse of that when we announce our 2020 Honoree. If you haven't made your room reservations yet please take note: If you call during the day, ask to speak to Seth, the General Manager. Some of you may have experienced some difficulty previously but a couple of people called this week and their total time on the phone with Seth was under three minutes! The direct number at the hotel is 1-270-745-0088. Again, ask to speak to Seth, the General Manager and be sure to mention code SCR. Time is drawing near so make your plans for what may be the First Real Event of 2020. Safe practices are always a good idea so be considerate, stay healthy and we hope to see you all very soon! |
The new T-shirt is very cool and I can tell several people are excited about the event and I am as well I look forward to seeing everybody and having great food from Jason

Hi folks,
We are two weeks away! Here is the menu for the Thursday night meat n greet. Looking froward to seeing everyone. |
Looks yummy!
|
Our governor made it mandatory to wear a mask in public for the next 30 days, so bring one with you. It sucks, and I don't agree with it, but that's how it is.

Oh and lets tell people they can't go into Churches to worship but it's ok to protest in mass numbers on city streets. I realize this is a real virus but I'm not "drinking the whole container of Kool Aid" here. It's a fact the numbers are being skewed. Notice how this has become a major news topic again now that the protesting and rioting has subsided... LOL Rich |

Hey guys, the original owner of my Hugger Orange COPO is wanting to come and join us again this year, like he did 2 years ago when he was reunited with HIS car after 40+ years...talk about a cool moment. I still have the video of when he walked up to her, getting all misty eyed!
Freddie’s right about the mask requirement. Are there any other restrictions that are being put in place for the weekend that we may need to know about? Will the banquet be more spaced out, etc.? Many thanks in advance Kasey |
This is from the Kentucky Government Website. This info is most current and dated 07/09/2020.
Kentucky’s new executive order requires Kentuckians to wear face coverings under several circumstances for the next 30 days. The order will be evaluated during that time to determine any additional steps or extension. The executive order states that face coverings will be required: “While inside, or waiting in line to enter, any: retail establishment; grocery store; pharmacy; hair salon/barbershop; nail salon/spa; tattoo parlor; child care facility; restaurant or bar (when not seated and consuming food or beverage); health care setting, or; any other indoor public space in which it is difficult to maintain a physical distance of at least six feet from all individuals who are not members of that person’s household; “While waiting for or riding on public transportation or paratransit, or while riding in a taxi, private car service, or ride-sharing vehicle, or driving any of the above while customers are present; or “While in outdoor public spaces in which the person cannot maintain a physical distance of six feet from all individuals who are not members of the person’s household and is not otherwise covered by previously issued guidance.” There are several exemptions to the order, including children who are 5 or younger and any person with a disability, or a physical or mental impairment, that prevents them from safely wearing a face covering. I'm an "Ohioan" visiting Kentucky for the Super Car Reunion so I guess I am exempt from wearing a mask. LOL
