Perfect time to dyno the engine while it's out--that way there are no if's/and's/but's when it goes back in.
Has the converter been serviced? |
I took the motor to my engine guy. Pulled the timing cover off. Everything lines up. He;s quote, It;s on the outside of the motor. So it;s something with the igintion, We rebuilt the carb. And there where no issues. With the carb, when we took it apart. Thanks The Dutchman
So. how did it run in the HEAT today Prof?
Any updates?
We;re going to try the car out tomorrow. Because rain today, again! Took the motor out. My engine guy checked it out. Everything was OK. He said it;s not on the inside, where the problem is. The Dutchman

Still trying to figure out, what is the problem? The season is going by fast. Thanks The Dutchman
Haven't found anything amiss yet??? :hmmm:
Did you have the trans & converter checked out? |
Eric, i sent the converter to Coan transmissions. They went over it. The trans is OK. I ran the car, after the converter was done. No differnce in working. Times where the same. Still runs flat, no power!!! BBBenny
How about the carb Benny?
Benny,
Seriously, what did you change from last time it ran well Benny? Something was changed that is making it run flat...think BBB what is different?? Does Sam have to break out the Craftsman tool box and head up???? Dave 67 Nova Boy |
Motor is out and it;s going to a engine dyno! This should tell me what is going on! BBBenny
Any updates?
Eric, I talked with a dyno guy. The other day, i have to call him back, the end of the next week. It;s busy time, for this guys. Info, when I have something to tell! Thanks The Dutchman

BBenny,

Jim, The dyno will tell the tale! About the motor. Good or Bad! The Dutchman
correct Benny!
Took the motor from the Red car to a dyno guy. HP was 698.2 torque was 649.0 I think we got the motor setup know. Will be putting it in the car soon. The Dutchman
Excellent! Did you find any issues with it while it was on the dyno?
Eric. We played with the carb, a little. And that was it. The Dutchman
when is the first test run?
Jim, i;m not sure when i can get the motor in. Soon I hope? But No test run. You get two time shots at most races, that will be my test runs. The dutchman

We got one time shot. Time shot was a 10;27. First round loss. Bought back, won the first round. Ran a 10;22. lost second round, tire spin! But the Red car is rocking! The Dutchman
Only a matter of time till the demons were cast out Professor. Now LRC can get back to going rounds and setting records. I see some 9 second shots down the road Prof.
Sam I think that could have happened Sunday ,but they canceled the race at Cecil.
I believe you are right Mike. A very "on and off" year for drag racing weather wise around here it seems.
That Nova is flyin!!
Good job Professor! Will you be going to SEMA to sign autographs and kiss babies?

Benny was also hoping to set the B/MP record in the nines this year but little aches and pains with the red car and mostly weather issues played a big part in that. Stay tuned for LRC updates on this Site. |

Raced Sunday, at cecil County, the car went a 10;13 at 133 MPH. I went to the third round. Won a few bucks. But the car is working, fine. Hoping to get some pics up, soon! Thanks The Dutchman

Let's not forget to mention John with the the former flyin dutchmen motor in his Nova 11.22 and a trip to the semi finals ! LRC on a roll
Yes LRC is making a big dent in the competition. Under Benny's watchful eye and guidance and Pete Suriano's engine building abilities, this Lehighton Team is on a roll. FAST, FAST, FAST is the norm in that little village on top of the mountain.
For new or old set ups give the Professor a call. |
