Hello fellow L89 Lovers.

I have discussed with a few people the Frost Green 1969 Chevelle SS 396 L78/L89 Convertible in CARSINBARNS.

I have a goal of getting one Barn Find L89 to MCACN but they are so few and far between my options are limited.

Does anyone know the owner of this L89?.

Wow wouldn't that be something to find this car. Ryan this would be the barn find of the century. Far as I'm concerned anyway. If it was mine it would be parked in my living room and I'd sleep next to it.

Good one Mike.

This is as good as it gets for barn finds.

Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's

I seem to have really poor timing as far as MCACN is concerned. Had you guys been soliciting L89 barn-finds last year, I could have brought this project... my Fathom Green / green bench 4-speed L78/L89 that was flipped on its lid very early in its life and sat that way for many decades. It still wore its original paint and scars until last fall.

http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/g...pse21f1517.jpg

After years of me encouraging my body-man to finally move forward on this project, the car just underwent some serious surgery to receive a new roof panel... and a full resto will follow (as his time and my money permits).

Had I known about the MCACN L89 display, I could have easily left it another year and brought it in its original as-found condition. My bad!

Yes I'd love to hear the story behind this aluminum headed beast in the best color for a 69. More pics would also be awesome.

Micky Hale mentioned that he used to own a 1969 Chevelle SS 396 L78/L89. I found this picture to go on so far.

Ryan

I talked to the owner of this L89 Chevelle, and he will be attending the MCACN 2014 Chevrolet L89 Showcase but won't be bringing the car. He would love to meet you Chuck Morse, and previous owner Micky Hale, and of course the original owner Chuck McQueen. He lives in sunny California, and yes I offered to get him in contact with Reliable Carriers.

Another 1969 Chevelle SS396 L78/L89 that I would like to find for the Carlisle Events Sponsored Chevrolet L89 Showcase at MCACN 2014.

For a few brief moments Mike Guarise "sixtiesmuscle" had a 1969 Chevelle L89. As part of a multicar deal this L89 Chevelle came and went from Mike's collection:-(

LeMans Blue SS396 L78/L89 4 speed, black bucket seat interior.

Between 1999 and 2000 this gem was consigned to Northern Illinois Auto Brokers but has not surfaced recently.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's

I have to say, watching this display come together has been pretty cool. The dedication of Detective Ryan has been a lot of fun to watch, and his commitment to making sure this is a hit is awesome. The interaction with PostSedan Dan and the sYc Members certainly adds to the excitement.

The diversity of the group is what really blows me away; Camaro's, Chevelles, a Corvette and even an El Camino will be on display. Sedans, Coupes and Convertibles will all be on display. The qualification process assures that what you will be viewing will indeed be very real examples.

And to add to the mystery, we have yet another that I cant quite formally announce just yet. This particular car is totally off the radar, undergoing full restoration as this is being written and the owner has provided some impressive history and documentation. He has agreed to an onsite final inspection from our team to verify its authenticity. Yet another reason to put the big red circle around November 22-23! NO excuses!

I am very much enjoying this display as well.

Thanks Bob!! (Great to chat at PSMCDR)

Last night my Muscle Car Review showed up and low and behold a 1969 L89 Chevelle that I have never heard about or seen before was right there in front of my eyes.

I would like to know a little more about this one!!
