Re: '69 Chevelle
After going thru the NCRS info process and confirming that my paperwork is bogus, as seen in the link below, I managed to score a Roy Davis trunk emblem from ebay that PeteLeathersac put me onto. Many thanks Pete!

Re: '69 Chevelle
Had a few days off over Easter and it was great timing as my restored booster, master and prop valve turned up. So I used some time to removed the repo junk and install the real stuff. Replaced the hard brake lines as well while I had the opportunity.

He does awesome work. Also to Scott Seebold for the master, very nice piece. |

Re: '69 Chevelle
Damien,
Looks great.....so sorry I forgot to get back to you on your email I assume you figured it out Next you can get yourself a cowl seal with the proper metal clips....this way you can eliminate those round plastic plugs and those cowl screen covers Dan |
Re: '69 Chevelle
Thanks guys.
Dan, yeah all sorted. Had the wrong length ps belt and it was a PITA but got it worked out and put the correct length belt on. I ordered a 69 assembly manual too! I've got the seal and the clips. Next on the list. What, you don't like the cowl screens? |

Re: '69 Chevelle
Well, it's been a miserable winter here and haven't had the Chevelle out for months before today.
We took in a show I have been to many times before in country Victoria at a town called Euroa. It is an almost 190 mile round trip for us and the Chevelle, true to form, ran like a top! A great, sunny spring day out with a lunch stop at a country pub on the way home! Great way to stretch it's legs given we leave for your great country and MCACN in under 4 weeks. http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4p047dgr.jpg http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...psvugyrpjg.jpg |

Well done, Love it :D

Lookin' good :D

Sharp Damien!

Your Chevelle looks great! My brother-in-law bought a new one late in 1968. It was the same color combo with the rear antenna and stripe. I always liked that car.
|
Appreciate the kind words gents.
|
Having fun in the summer!!
|
Right you are Bruce! Although we don't get the extremes of weather that you guys tend to have, the good weather is almost behind us for another year.
|
Had a bit of time this week for some overdue maintenance so I finally changed out the 90/10 front shocks for some gas units. Who knows why you would want these shocks on the street, but they're gone now, never to return, to this car at least. Spirals are coming in the future at some point.
http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...psmnfvl5oz.jpg Changed out the cowl seal, tried to change out the horn contact but was sent the wrong one. Awesome. Should take delivery of some upper and lower ball joints and front control arm bushes tomorrow so hopefully they will be done by weeks end. Need to also sort out the back up lights as they have decided to stay on permanently. Hard to have a bad day working on your hot rod. Beats working for a living! |
Nice looking Chevelle, congrats.
|
Thanks Mark.

I received some parts over the weekend. A big thank you to Dan Vasic for the supplying both the horns and horn relay. All correct GM units for my Chevelle.
Also thanks to the restorers of the parts, including Gary from The Horn Works. Fantastic work. http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5otioyqe.jpg http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...psisealnpj.jpg |
My pleasure Damien....glad to help.

Hasn't been a lot happening lately, but I have been watching you guys showing off your Cragars and have decided to get in on it!
I managed to find these two 15x7's locally, dated '87 and never been mounted, reasonably priced, $300 for the pair (just over $200 in your money currently). They need a good clean and polish but should come up ok. Currently looking for a pair of 15x4's for the front which could take some time. |
Now your talking Damien. Nice birthday present to yourself!!!!! Good hunting! :burnout:
|
Thanks Sam.
I drew on your awesome '69 for inspiration! |
Nice :)

Cragars make everything better!

Nice summer's day down here. Good day for a wash and some fresh gas.
|
Damien,
Glad you are enjoying her :) Don’t forget.....more ice cream too :) Dan |
Damien, what type and octane fuel do you have "down under" to run in your 69??
Rich |
Rich,
The fuel down here is weak to say the least. There was one supplier that you could get 100 octane from out of the pump but that has since gone. I use 98 octane with an octane booster that give me up to another 2.5 points. Works well. |
