------Mike,,,What a great piece of history!!! Am wondering if it ever had any wheels other than the Rallys on it. All those modifications and then stock wheels. Dont get me wrong,,, Rallys are fine, just wondering........Bill S [/ QUOTE ] Based on the photo of the orig spare in the trunk, the car was orig delivered with Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires, XT's rims and dog dish caps. Awesome car since everyone has been inviting you to shows, how about a local one. The GM/Camaro National in Carlisle 6/26-28 We can work on getting you a spot inside a building. |

Re: Another B/M Camaro
I have sent in the application for the Carlisle show in June to have this car judged in the "Vintage Legend" class. If any of you are heading there, hope to see you and meet you there. I have alot to learn about these cars, so it will be fun and a good learning experience! I still have some some work to do to get it ready, but if i dont do it now, who knows when it will ever get done. Would love to go to SCR and the others, but that would have to be planned a year in advance but will get there someday! I am cheating since this is the closest event.

Re: Another B/M Camaro
What are the dates for the show you are attending Mike?
I need to see something good this year. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif |

There are typically over 500 camaros that participate each year. The weather has a big effect in the turn out. Looking forward to meeting you.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif Steve |

Re: Another B/M Camaro
It's been a couple years ago that I was talking about your uncles car to friend that knew the car in the seventies. The second owner has a tranny shop in Cleveland. I would like to see the car with different wheels and tires.
|
Re: Another B/M Camaro
Astock, i was told by my uncle that it originally had Cragar SS wheels on it, so started the process to find a set. By chance, can you see, or can anyone see if they can find pics of this car in the 70's or at least prior to 1983. Also, the person that bought the car last name was Lapp, can you or anyone fill in the owner history after that? I thought there was either two or three owners before my uncle got it. Any help is alwasy appreciated! Actually i head to Cleveland rather often, so if you can make an introduction, it would be great as well.
Thanks Mike |
Re: Another B/M Camaro
Lose the mudflaps. Add Torque-Thrusts. Redlines. Done.
Awesome car. Enjoy it til you're 90. |
Re: Another B/M Camaro
Mike,
It's obviously your call on the wheels and Cragars are killer on Black cars, ......... but I second the TTs & redlines. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif Whatever you do, the car is https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif! |

Definetly a reason for lack of rust in quarters and fenders. I did take them off because the car no longer sees puddles or rain. I would second leaving them on this Camaro in the case of the sidepipes. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif |
Re: Another B/M Camaro
Thanks for all the compliments. The Torque-Thrusts are definately a great wheel and may consider it. But cant go wrong with the Cragars as well. Trying to put together a complete set. My uncle mentioned before that that mud flaps really helped with the "road rash" so maybe in hindsight i was lucky he did since the original paint is still in great shape. If any of you are going to carlisle, please stop by and say hello. I believe i will be in building "Y" from Thursday to Sunday. I will be heading to the other building with all the other great cars sometime and will do the same.

Re: Another B/M Camaro
Not a probelm Arthur, would be flattered to get this car known out in the world. I did pm you.
Just a FYI, i have reliable trucking picking up the car and in talking to the driver, he has a new, 2 miles only, new Corvette GS. Not sure if this is the newest and baddest corvette out there, but he should be delivering this around 10 or so on Thursday. If people are around, maybe they can see it get off the truck. |

Re: Another B/M Camaro
[b]There was no signage stating what this car was, and I'm sure many people walked by unaware they were in the presence of royalty. The first time I walked by it, there were several judges standing in front of it,
rejudging the ’67 Z-28 next to it and I walked right past. There was only the Motion emblem on the front to announce what it really was! http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...rlise09101.jpg Mike was not around, but Steve (PACEME) seated next to it, was kind enough to tell us what he knew about the car and show us some of the supporting documents. Thanks Steve! http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...rlise09138.jpg It was tough to get a shot of the car due to the crowd, and space limitations. http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...rlise09140.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...rlise09139.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...rlise09137.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...rlise09108.jpg The car still carries many original parts, including the hoses and shocks.
