Re: Scene (seen) on the Street
I always though they were a nice compliment to a X-ram manifold. Not sure what they are supposed to look like under the hood, but in my minds eye I see two Holley's side-by-side.

If it were more street friendly I would consider this just to save the vintage paint.

How much is the drag Camaro?
Cool in its own way .... Here is an item you don't see everyday, most people haven't seen one for over 30 years & the plates are current ... : http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a26...v8corvairr.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a26...8corvairin.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a26...v8corvairf.jpg This is sitting in front of a house on a main street less than 5 minutes south of the Pavilions ... |
Re: Scene (seen) on the Street
I am talking about a mid engined V8 Corvair, this one was a Turbo before it was changed over ...
|
Re: Scene (seen) on the Street
Jim, there was no price on the Camaro and I did not write down the phone number. (was afraid to start a conversation haha) If I pass it again, I'll get the number.

Re: Scene (seen) on the Street
My 73/79 hybrid in 2011 being driven everyday in the northeast snow and salt. There isnt one drop of rust on that perfectly straight GM metal. I build'em to drive'em though. Eventually that front clip will end up back on my 73 where it belongs
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...r7391/salt.jpg My 73(and the above front clip and doors) in front of my parent's house in about 1991. This car is currently being restored. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...20pics/ps9.jpg The same car in the exact same spot in 89:) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...owerslave8.jpg My best friend's 76 Camaro parked behind Bayonne High School in 1989 or 90 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...eelsoffire.jpg My 58K mile 71 Vette in front of my parent's house in 1998. All original except 1 repaint and the flares. 350/270 auto loaded with black deluxe. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../71vette-1.jpg This is supposedly Grumpy's toy #8 when it was owned by a Brooklyn NY street racer who had it parked on the street back around 1980. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ovalcamaro.jpg |

Re: Scene (seen) on the Street
Here is a little time warp fun. I had my car down my parents house last week and decided to take a few pics. This car is actually a 79 Camaro that I bolted all my 1973 parts onto for safekeeping until the 73 shell is done. It will then be the entire car from the 1989 pic.
20 years ago http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...werslave98.jpg Now http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...aveat9thst.jpg Summer of 89 (How much I would like to go back) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...einterior9.jpg Almost to the day 22 years later. This is the actual same interior except for a few small items. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...veat9thst2.jpg Before you comment on how big that tree got,I will say that the tree was big 22 years ago,the camera just didnt catch it. |
Re: Scene (seen) on the Street
How did you get a flat back window to work on that '79???
|

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: RAIIIT/A</div><div class="ubbcode-body">How did you get a flat back window to work on that '79??? </div></div>
I fabbed it up. The 79 had some rust on the 1/4's around the window opening, but not the channels themselves,so I cut directly where the channel curved onto the 1/4 all around that area of the window opening, then pie cut the piece(I never fully removed it) and rolled it up to meet the new window, tack welded it to the roof, then fabbed up everything else. It saved me from fabbing the whole window bed as well as figuring out what to use to mount the window molding clips. I kid around that the car is still all GM metal,. The trunk lid was rusty underneath,so I put my 73 trunk lid on it,and used the 79 lid to make my filler pieces, they are done both inside and out. I wont deny it,there is a fair amount of mud over it all,but it was more of a way to challenge myself and make something interesting, and I do like the 70 window better. Heres another pic just for the heck of it. I will say that I have aligned the door a lot better since then.:) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...s/HPIM0439.jpg If you drove down the street looking for my 73,this is what you would find of it right now. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../cardolly3.jpg |

I had a six pack of Cobras come on the boat today, one real (on the lower right) the rest were kit cars. Nice noise, 6 big blocks with headers burning sweet gas. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...70124120_n.jpg |
