Re: Christenholz Liquidating?
-----Yah Rick,,,I didnt know where Bob Fullers car had gotten to. I saw this car way back in the late 70s when doing a little trading with Bob on another vehicle. He said he would never sell but we all know how that goes. When others talk about thier restored LS6 droptops I always think of this black piece of art as the benchmark........Bill S

Re: Christenholz Liquidating?
I thought Gary E. would never ever sell it either.
Stunned when he did & for how much.. Dave brought it to SCR9 to do a lil..https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif |
Re: Christenholz Liquidating?
Will the 70 Chevelle experts agree that this is probably the best LS6 convert out there ? As in low mile non restored, known forever ? This is the first one I had ever seen pics of.

Re: Christenholz Liquidating?
Has my vote.
Very little has been done to it since I first saw it in 1987. ..and I'll go a step further and say I would like to own it today. http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...sseLS60001.jpg |

Re: Christenholz Liquidating?
I talked with Bob at SC Indy around 1985. I had seen the car in a magazine earlier and asked him about the statement they published regarding the "Special Order Bumper Pad". He just laughed and said he had a local sign painter apply that to the bumper because he liked it. (Hand painted; you can still see the brush strokes.) If I recall correctly he also had it done to a Red Coupe he owned.
It was a real treat to see it again at the Reunion. Yep, one of the Best, if not THE Best one around. (But then I might be a bit partial to the color and option combo. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif) Charley, why don't YOU buy it and I'LL store it for you right next to a Black Coupe. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif |

[/ QUOTE ] Dave's car is certainly very nice and well known, however, I think there are a number of special LS-6 converts around. My old car was also a triple black M-22, born with engine, trans, rear, earliest known, and perhaps the 1st LS-6 convert built (12C). Formerly part of Dana Mecum's personal collection and known ownership history to day one. It too made a few passes at SCR. |
Re: Christenholz Liquidating?
It's awesome that Dave is allowing the new owners of his cars to come from the public. Often all these great cars pass around to a handful of people. This will allow the average " not in the click " person to have a chance. Awesome.
Looking forward to seeing his cars again next week. Sign me up Charley. |
