Re: 2008 Z06 Burnout
Doing a mean burnout is one thing. Purposely blowing out your tires and ripping up a quarter panel on a brand new car is another. Even if money is no object, I can't condone that IMO.

Ah, what the heck....Smoke em if ya got em.. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif Restore it later...That's the sole reason we do restorations today. Most had the snot beat out of them right from the dealers lot...Ever wonder where the numbers matching engines and rears went ? ...lol Steve https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif [/ QUOTE ] But what about all of these fine "numbers matching" musclecars that are in a "strange abundance" today and on e-bay https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif Rich |

[/ QUOTE ] I think people are missing the point. It appears that the gentleman doing the burnout is the Plant Manager at the Bowling Green, KY Corvette assembly plant. The car is a pre-production prototype that can't be legally sold anyway. It's a test mule... a prototype... part of one of the pre-launch builds to evaluate components. Pre-launch vehicles are typically used for testing and evaluation, and then eventually torn down and scrapped. Therefore, I see no harm in what he did. As the plant manager, I'm sure he has the access and right to do what he did to a car that would be scrapped anyway. You've gotta admit, he put on a helluva show! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif |

Re: 2008 Z06 Burnout
I watch "Top Gear" every Monday night on BBC America, and that is the only time he was impressed with any Corvette. He also took the Z06 from a dead stop to top speed in 5th gear, with no shifting. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif Very impressive test drive on a long runway. However, he also said that the Z06 was not practically suited for every day driving, just too much car for the effort required. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif In other words, just get the regular 'vette unless you plan on going racing. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Why is this guy an idiot? The car is easily repairable. He entartained a huge crowd. I was selling at the show on L row (Space L88 is mine by the way), and you could hear that car doing a burnout from L row. The cloud was massive!!!! The crowd went crazy for about 10 minutes. Glory in my opinion guys, glory was had for that gentleman. [/ QUOTE ] I have to agree, hey the video put a smile on my face. Big deal he put a hole in one of the 10,000+ vettes out there!!. |
