[ QUOTE ] ... yes i remember the PATIO that was a kool place. morse road was a nice place to cruise back then with JERRY'S drive in at one end and the PATIO at the other. lastly, i live near lancaster, ohio now. do you know you owned the 67 Z/28 back then? dennis [/ QUOTE ] Mitch Bard bought the car from Twin Pines (traded in a Jeep) in Spring/Summer 1976. No record of ownership before then, but appears to have always been titled in PA https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif [/ QUOTE ]sorry read it wrong, i see now it is lancaster PA. not lancaster, ohio. dennis |

Couple I lost, for sale 1970 Barracuda, stick shift , orange. I show up, 440 six pack, hemi orange, 4 spd, white top and white leather interior, shaker, dent in the 1/4. Son's car, bought it just before Nam, Dad put the dent in the 1/4 pulling it out of the garage the week before the ad in the paper came out. Son never made it out of Nam, they kept the car all these years (how many times have you heard this story?)wanted $3k around 1983-4. Asked dad for the money, he said I was nuts, look for an Escort instead, but Dad this will be worth a lot of money someday, trust me, He didn't. Very true story, I helped the Father jump it to get it started, Also had a shot at a 70 Buick GS Stage 1 Conv 4spd, all orig, around the $3k mark as well , same ending on that as well. Sad ending to this I did end up with a POS Escort... [/ QUOTE ] Mine is similar. A '74 Pontiac Formula SD-455 was for sale in the mid 80's .... the dude was getting married and needed money... I wanted my first car.... he was asking $1,500..... I worked through the summer and put money away.... Dad said no way did a 16-year old need a 455 Firebird. He made me spend my money on a sensible car... a '77 Chevette. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/mad.gif I still haven't forgotten about it. |

Re: heres my "one that got away"
Hi Bruce,
Yes a Blue 74 (new) could have been in the mix. I remember the gas gauge going through 1/4 of a tank of gas in a very short test drive. Not the most fuel efficient smog motor TA. The one that really got away is the 69 Trans Am sitting on the used car lot in Santa Ana, CA. back in 78 for under 2,000. REALLY missed on that one. |
Re: heres my "one that got away"
well my bubble has been busted. i have spent the last 30 years worrying that i made a major mistake not buying one of my dream cars, turns out it wasn't even real https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif the figures don't lie, maybe the 70's where a little to tuff on my brain. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif dennis

back in 1974 i lived in the north end of columbus ohio, me and a couple buddies shared a 3 bedroom apartment. it was close to christmas time and on morse road there was an old house that set up near the road. one day there was a black with white yenko stripe 69 chevelle setting right next to the house with a small for sale sign in the window. i stopped and checked it out, it looked mostly original and clean. asking $3000, looking futher i seen it was a automatic, bummer. at the time i had a 69 Z/28 and a 66 SS chevy II L/79. i wanted a 4 speed so i thought i would wait and someday i would find one. "somedays never come" the car was gone in a few short days and i have never seen it locally again. snooze ya loose. dennis [/ QUOTE ] Do you remember what color interior that black 69 Chevelle had? My COPO Chevelle spent a lot of its life in Columbus Ohio. Its originally white with red bench/automatic interior but I know it was painted black at one time - someone coulda put yenko stripes on it at the time even though its not a Yenko... Any chance it might have been the one you saw back in 1974??? |
Re: heres my "one that got away"
it had black interior i "think", and i am not positive but i think it was automatic on the column. thats what really turned me off from it. now i would love a bench seat with cloumn shift if it came that way from factory. after growing up with dads bench seat column shift stick/auto that was the last thing i wanted. 4 speed, buckets and console was what i had on my mind. i do still like a 4 speed, but with bench seat. also i work on morse road and i went by karl/morse and noticed there is still a old PATIO SHOPS sign there https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif dennis

Re: heres my "one that got away"
after looking through this site for info for the "black" yenko chevelle https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif i found in the yenko vins. section with 3 sold at hugh white chevrolet in downtown columbus, ohio unknown for color/trans. i did witness a dark green with white stripe yenko chevelle in there showroon in summer of 69. it had matching green interior with bucket seats and console with the U shaped shifter. the window sticker listed it as a 427/450 hp. now whether they sold it there or dealer traded it away i do not know. it sure left a long lasting impresson on me https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif dennis
