JAG and I have the same opinion on this subject https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif [ QUOTE ] If I were to restore a car that was marked up... I would with out a doubt have many good pictures and drawings with notes so I could duplicate the marks... thus I would have documentation backing up the restored cars marks. [/ QUOTE ] As an example, and the same is done for every marking found (in addition to notes/diagrams): http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...Z/100_0054.jpg dave [/ QUOTE ] Is that bird poop? |

Re: General Auction Rant
Great topic! .
I'm all for duplicating only found marks and documenting them as you go....this is the way the serious 'Vette guys have been doing it for years. . The overdone ones remind me of old ladys who wear too much makeup. That 'clown cars' term....too perfect! . I love the idea of letting the youngsters do the work....sounds like a great way to get 'innocent' results also a nice family touch! . And Rick, a little known fact is Elvis' had Jewish blood as his grandmother was a Mansell....I wonder if he's related to Nigel? . https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif ~ Pete |
Re: General Auction Rant
If you want to follow along with my resto saga here is some of it: I preserved the existing marks on the suspension that were salvageable and had the kids do the paint marks on the rear differential:
