Good advice. The Tbirds and Gt40s come to mind as far as the hype reversing itself.

[/ QUOTE ]

They all reverse themself, except maybe VERY limited production cars, like the Enzo Ferrari.

Remember these:
Mazda Miata
Corvette ZR1
Dodge Prowler
PT Cruiser
Honda S2000
Hummer H2
Corvette Z06 (The old one)

Everyone of those was a huge hype at first, sold way over sticker price.......
Then the production caught up, and everyone who had one,
lost their shirt in resale value.

In 99 I bought a 1990 ZR1 from a guy who paid $97K for his new Corvette - car #356.
Price was: Sticker + dealer markup + luxury tax + Sales Tax.
9 years later, I paid him $27K with only 7000 miles on it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif
Sold that monstrosity a few years later...

The Shelbys are VERY nice, but in 4 years - They are just going to be another used car.

Hold it for 25 years and MAYBE get your investment back.
Only if they don't sell a million of them. And you NEVER drive it.

This is Just my opinion, there is definitely some value to being the first one out enjoying one of those.
But for $20k over sticker??? "I work way too hard for my money"

I'll be the one buying YOURS in 3 years. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif
So don't drive it in the rain. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Saw a 2007 GT-H a few days ago - VERY COOL!!!

Very well said, Jeff....With an estimated 8-10k annual vehicle production planned on the GT500, (from what I've seen in various news clips) it's not worth it (to me, at least) to pay a premium up front just to get a hold of one.

Re: 2007 SHELBY

I think the Shelby would be much more in demand[Last count there were 62 on ebay at the same time, many of which have "sold" once or more times only to get relisted] if there werent so many other Mustang choices. You have the GT,the California Special, the Hertz replica rent a car, the Parnelli Jones Edition,Roush,Saleen,Cobras ,and talk of a 302 boss,429boss, gt500kR,etc next year .Thats not even counting Eleanor,Foose and the seeemingly hundreds of aftermarket kits, and motors that can be put in a base mustang to create clones of these cars. Its like all the Vintage musclecar mustangs are being available at the same time. If i had 50K to buy one,id be confused as to which one to buy.

Well said. I think the proliferation of Bullitts, GTs, GTHs, etc are what hurt the value of the GT500s. Think about the Mustang Rs that sold for big bucks years ago...

I still cant understand why no one hits the "buy it nows" on these cars available for 57K, yet bidders fight over the 35 other identical cars at over 64K ???? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Must...1QQcmdZViewItem

Re: 2007 SHELBY

Maby should wait and buy a 2009 Camaro, im sure it will hold its value much better. My Shelby convertible sold and was delivered from ebay.
