Re: ZLX 69 Motion Camaro
Congrats Andy! Hey, I live only 3 hours from Kevin's place. How about if I take it for a test run before you take delivery? You know, to make sure everything is alright. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Re: ZLX 69 Motion Camaro
It's a cool car. I had it in 1987. It was gold when i got it, I painted it black and put it back together after the carbs were stolen, along with a few misc items. We made one aborted pass late one night at Gainesville, with the original owner Chuck driving. Chuck lifted just past half track, Caught the carbs on fire, but 1/8 mile numbers said it was on a low 10 second pass. Not bad after not running for some 10 years.
Chuck ended up getting the car back, it's a long story, but it is probably the most regretfull of all cars I gave up through the years. I paid up for it, $10,000, LOL! |
Re: ZLX 69 Motion Camaro
I see it listed again. I wonder why the date on the invioce from Motion is whited out?

Re: ZLX 69 Motion Camaro
I bought the car from Kevin Suydam and sold it to the present owner, work was done in 1974 by Motion. car doesnt have a title because its been a race car all its life. I know a title has been applied for just incase a guy wanted to change a few things around and drive it on the street. Very Very cool car but very radical motor. Joel Rosen has signed off on it and its a well known car but it take the right guy.

Re: ZLX 69 Motion Camaro
So is the present owner the one that did the whiteout to the work order ?
|
Re: ZLX 69 Motion Camaro
No that was done long long ago..One of the previous owners from before Tim even found the car had tried passing it off as a REAL 69 Baldwin car and changed the date on the paper work to read 1969 when in fact it was done in 74'. Long story short the guy who bought it from the guy who changed the paperwork found out and busted him on it and lawyers got involved and the guy who changed it had to buy it back, there are papers along with the car (names, lawyers, story etc..) In Joels letter documenting the car is also says he did the car in 74' along with the magazine articles on the car.
