Well, I traveled to Michigan with every intention of bringing the Corvette home but, what I found when I arrived was not what I expected. The car was no where near the condition described in the ad and was not a numbers matching car as I had been led to beleive in various phone conversations.
Needless to say, I left for home minus the car. My search continues and I will not be looking to Ebay for that "perfect" Corvette anymore.

It has nothing to do with Ebay. The same thing could have happened to you if you responded to an ad on "Traderonline" or "Corvette Trader". Would that mean you wouldn't use those sources anymore if you checked into an ad and found someone misrepresented a car?

I guess you're right about Ebay. Maybe I'll just try to keep my search closer to home so I won't be as upset if the car turns out to be a POS.

better yet keep looking in all the fishing holes,if you see something ask if we have a local member that can give you a 30 min inspection and some honest feedback, then pass or fly out and really look it over...seems we never find a car in our back yard anymore there across country...that is until you get one home then your strange neighbor that never talks to you rolls one out of his garage.
