Re: 1964 Olds 442 Convertible for sale
How cool is this?
Tonight I got a phone call from the ORIGINAL Owner of the 1964 442 I have for sale!!!! Someone (that he doesn't even know) saw the auction on eBay and found his phone number in North Carolina (when he purchased the car in 1964 he lived in NY) and left him a message telling him that if he had purchased a 442 convertible in 1964 that he should check out the one on ebay. He did and it is his. Seems him and his wife were married in 1963 and had been driving some old junkers and decided that they wanted a F-85 4 Speed Convertible. They went to the dealer in Ossining NY and he had the 442 sitting in the lot brand new. It was ordered by a kid who unfortunately got drafted to Vietnam so he could not take possession. They bought the car (they named Linus) which they owned until 1984, when they moved to NC. He said he sold the car for $2,500. He thinks he wants to buy the car back so I am holding it for him while he makes up his mind. Nothing makes me happier than to find a good home for nice car but in this case I found its family!!!!! |

Re: 1964 Olds 442 Convertible for sale
That is a cool story.
I found a 64 in a little old lady's garage yesterday. I've been passing it for years, wondering what was under that cover just sitting there. So, yesterday I stopped to ask if i could to a peek at what was under there and she said sure. I was sure i was going to see a chevelle or a gto pop out, I just couldn't tell from way out on the road. When i pulled up the cover...whammo She started talking to me about it, but i was just to stunned! I couldn't hardly hear her anymore. I couldn't believe the condition that car was in. She asked if i wanted some cookies and milk, and i said sure. She left and i started pouring over the car. What a car! I could not find a stitch of rust anywhere. I asked her if she might be willing to sell it, she told me she was thinking of doing just that, but she had not had the time to think of a price yet. I asked her to name her price and ....get this.....she said " Dear, would 500 hundred dollars be to terribly expensive for you?" She said that she knew it was old and hoped that it wasn't asking to much. To make a long story short, I'm the proud new owner of the straightest car i have ever seen............. period! |

Pictures to be be taken today. It's a true story, if it's not may it fall to dust where it sits.:) I think she has all kinds of money, so no worries there.

Re: 1964 Olds 442 Convertible for sale
So it's OK to rip off a little old lady....as long as she's rich? Even in your dreams.
