Re: 27 Mile LS6
Lets hope not every 70 Chevelle gets restored the way this one appears now...you can't take one mass produced car and put all the same mistakes or details on them.

Re: 27 Mile LS6
My original paint LS6 which is also an Atlanta built car, has the SS emblem upside down in the grille also. The previous owner was the one who noticed it. There are a lot of other mistakes on these original cars, mismatched stripes, paint drips, etc. I'd love to have a complete detailed album of photos on this 26 mile car. Looks like an amazing car.

It's always fascinating looking at your cars Mark.....I sent you a PM, I have a couple NOS 61-2 big Pontiac parts your partner may be interested in........you guys miss me yet ? I may have to stop in to bust your chops next week.

Re: 27 Mile LS6
There is truly nothing like the feel and patina of an original car....although this car has more the patina of an original new car I would guess. Pure time warp. But $440K??? I guess it's hard telling if it will garner that kind of dollars. If it goes for $440K, I'll take $90K for mine https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

Re: 27 Mile LS6
Exactly. That's why I mentioned a couple of details that are commonly wrong and have snowballed. My latest thing is chassis paint markings I'm finding as I do one of my Z16s. Some of these are UNDER the part's paint and were never visible after assy.
I can only restore the car as IT was made, not as someone else's was built or restored but that 27 mile LS6 sure is a very nice examble to compare notes on! Dave |

The questions and answers on the auction are a good read. He says he is going on Jay Leno next week but I can't tell if he is serious.
