Kenny, I appreciate your kind thoughts on the car and Im not trying to kill the car. But when you say I did an adequate job DETAILING IT thats a little short i think. I respect your opinion about cars especially camaros but if you think that rebuilding the engine,trans,and rear and taking the whole car apart and rebuilding all the mechanicals putting on an exhaust system,then doing bodywork to the drivers door and repainting the driver side of the car and spot painting it in other areas [WHICH BTW I DID THE PAINT WORK MYSELF WITH TOPCOAT DUPONT LAQUER WITH HEATLAMPS]is just an adequate DETAIL job I dissagree with you. But in all fairness to you. You were not there and did not see the car before I started. If Harry Lutz seen the article then he will vouch for the work I did. Maybe he will post pics too!! And you and I know the truth about how the deal went down with the car and I did want it but thats another story. We wont touch on that. That is not the reason for this thread!! I just dont understand where this cars history came from,I mean nobody locally ever heard anything about any jenkins connection to the car!! And I think your a car guy and would also like the truth. I think you touched on it when you said that maybe he tuned it but as for it going to strickler-jenkins shop ID HAVE TO SEE PAPERWORK. I would not believe the original owner as he was pissed he lost the car to his wife!! THATS ANOTHER STORY! And Kenny, you seen all the boxes of parts from Lanzalotti. Everthing that was on the car was bought by the original owner from the dealer. Do you honestly think that jenkins would let you bring your own parts if he was to build a car for you?? I think not!! New jersey racers are a tight group of guys and are going to find out shortly what the deal is. Sam and some other local racers know grump and we will see if he remembers this car or doing cars in general for people. Sorry for the controversy. Now maybe we can move on!

one other thing, i don't think the original owner, john "lost the car to his wife", since i personally had numerous conversation with her when i called their residence, very nice lady & she gave me some insight as well....

I think this thread started when Kevin posted "70 1/2 Grumpy/jenkins ,dave strickler camaro" in the context of his cars. Mike then asked "Kevin, please tell us more about the Jenkins/Strickler Camaro."
I don't know what is in the article but the gist of what I have read in this thread is that it is probably not very correct to title it as a 70 1/2 Grumpy/jenkins ,dave strickler camaro but it sounds like a killer car. And on a serious note...these 70 1/2 cars are really cool...maybe more of them will shake loose...I can't wait till spring to beat on it.
