Re: Harrell Street Vega
Ken, I believe a '74 or so. And I never really got it sorted out before I sold it. Had trash in the gas tank and kept burning up the electric fuel pump(s). I sold it to Guarise, who said it was a lot of fun. Has changed hands a couple of more times since I sold it to MG. It was at Fall Vettefest in 2003.
Was a neat looking car, with the L-88 hood and rear ZL-1 flairs, spoilers, Cragars, etc. Mo built the small block in it, which sounded healthy, and it had a nice turbo 400 trans with a narrowned 4:56 posi 12 bolt. |

Re: Harrell Street Vega
Tom, I remember that Vega at VetteFest, it looked pretty scary fast. I've seen several "race' project Vega's over the past couple of years either on ebay, or in the web, with similar type equipment. It would be a fun car.

Re: Harrell Street Vega
Yes I believe it did have the
"c" clip eliminators with 4.56 gear set. There was also an "H" Stamped into the the Housing/Cover Flang. |
Re: Harrell Street Vega
I sold one of these Don Hardy Vega 12 bolts just a few years ago. It had a GM 4.56 gear set, 4 series carrier, 30 spline UN-tapered axles, GM 4-bolt axle retainers and giant 11 inch brake drums. I bought it dirt cheap and was so impressed by it that I tried to find a nice Vega just to stick it in. Never did find one worthy. It ended up being narrowed for a drag car. Regrets.
