Re: NEEDED PICS and INFO of Motion Ribbon Camaro
What kind of info do you need on the Ribbon car? It was one of the few times that Joel gave me free rein & let me paint it & letter it any way I wanted to. It's probably still one of my favorite paint jobs that I painted in the '70s. I also lettered the white race car, but not the yellow one.

Re: NEEDED PICS and INFO of Motion Ribbon Camaro
Looking for any pics of the Ribbon Car in any of the three colors it was in, White or Yellow. Car was last here in Hawaii with a 2nd Motion Street Camaro that was owned by the say person. Ribbon car is long gone but I would still like pics. Any underhood/interior or suspension pics would be nice as well.

Gary you may have to just set down and write a book about all the different cars that you painted.
I think you may have done the paint on my '69 BM Phase III car that was in the NY auto show. You described the paint stripes to me exactly as they were when I got the car and the quality of that paint was something that I feel is in your caliber of workmanship. It is a shame that the bodywork underneath was done before you came along. It might have held up better. I can tell where the holes for the emblems were filled in and that person knew what he was doing. They never cracked out. But the hood and the back deck area and the wheel well flairs are another story. Too much bondo and it got stress cracks in it that runed the great gold stripes. (see Pic) Are you shure that you didn't extend the lower porton of the wheel well flairs so that they were more like what came out in 1970? I can see that they have been changed from what was done originally. If you can remember you will make Joel much happier ($$$$). But, I know one thing... the guys on here are a great bunch and would just about kill for any of the stories and info you have on these cars that you could share. One of these days I am going to visit NY and drop by and see your place. Till then --- Please share some of your memories with all of us here, before they are lost forever. Pantera |
