[ QUOTE ]
A guy on my board posted this history and I thought you guys would enjoy reading it. Complete with facts and pictures. http://godsilpro.com/proforums/showt...ge=1&pp=10 [/ QUOTE ] Jason - I don't have specific examples but I think a lot of that has been taken word for word from other publications. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif I think its called plagiarism. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |
Re: Complete Camaro History 1967-2002
Plagerism is when you put your name on someone else's work, without attribution. Posting someone else's work on your forum is called copywrite infringment. Not nice either way, but the guy's not doing it for money.

Re: Complete Camaro History 1967-2002
"the guy is not doing it for money".
I would contend that the motivation is probably not the goodness of his heart. If you root around the website there is a part of it where parts are sold from the owner of the website. Not a big deal, but I would guess that the part of the website the info is on is designed to drive traffic to his website where that traffic will look at his parts, and potentially purchase. I am not taking sides on this, just thought I'd add my unsolicited two cents. |
Re: Complete Camaro History 1967-2002
When someone posts something in a forum it's assumed he/she is the author unless otherwise stated. If another authored the work and you are taking credit for it that is call plagiarism. Copyright infringment is using someone elses work for monetary gains or personal benefit. Since the owner of the site hosting the alleged plagiarism is using it to promote his site maybe he is in copyright violation...

Re: Complete Camaro History 1967-2002
I will let the guy on my website know that he needs to give credit to where he got the info. Yes, I sell parts on my website but if you look, Brembo, TechArt and the other companies that I carry and will carry in the future will in no way fit the cars that are featured on this forum. My website is only targeting the exotic car market. It is funny that when someone posts something like this, just because I thought you people would enjoy reading it, it is looked at as a conspiracy.

Re: Complete Camaro History 1967-2002
I was working on a Baldwin-Motion style '99 SS Camaro. I think that there are pictures of it on my website somewhere. The car is long gone though.
