Re: Don and a few of his race cars
That 'Vette is SWEET! What's the scoop on it? L72, L88, ??

Re: Don and a few of his race cars
I believe that the car was originally campaigned as an L-88, then changed to a ZL-1 motor in the early 70s. It's currently got a modern ZL-1 casting and the modern 074/077 replacement heads. They had serious overheating problems with the car at Goodwood and weren't particularly interested in answering questions. Too bad...

Proves that even the media from the same era can make mistakes... Car is supposed to be driven by Yenko, but they made several mistakes in the 1966 Sebring progam.
Check this out: Mistake #1: Picture is supposed to be from the 1965 race. In 1965, Yenko indeed drove a 'Vette with Bushell, but it was #28 - they DNF'd. Mistake #2: There was no 'Vette #6 in the 1965 race (#6 was a Porsche 904 GTS). The picture is actually from the 1964 race, but was driven by Robertson/Boo - it retired due to clutch problems despite the issue they appear to be having in the picture. 1964 was the year Don drove the Ferrari GTO to 28th overall and 3rd in Class. How the hell are we supposed to use these old mags as reference material? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif 1966 was a better year for Don. He drove a 427 Vette to 11th overall and 2nd in Class. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/116583-65-Corvette.jpg |

Entry list for the 1966 Sebring 12 Hours. Yenko was both a driver and a constructor:

Last one for now. 1964 American Road Race of Champions, Riverside, CA (effectively the national run-offs). Yenko was one of two representatives of the Northeast Region:
