Yeah, that pro tree was a ball buster! And to make matters worse, every once in a while a glitch in the tree software would cause it to unknowingly switch to the sportsman sequence...talk about throwing you off your game!!

Re: F.A.S.T. Indiana Shootout

I keep having more and more of a blast with this Biscayne ! I was able to get in pretty consistent 13.4x times, with a best all day of a 13.42@104 . That is the best the car has run yet. I can complain a little bit about the washboard-esque starting line, giving me some wheel hop fits, but other than that I had a good time. If I could get it to leave just a little bit harder, the car would be movin' pretty good in my book ! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif I am simply AMAZED at how HARD this 427 pulls ! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/headbang.gif All of my 13.4x runs were shifting it at 65-6600 RPM ! That is with .024 intake, and .028 exhaust lash. (Thanks Pete !) Now if I could just get it weighed to have my curiousity fulfilled on how heavy this thing is, I'd be mucho-happy. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

The best part was - - My Pure Stock 427/425 horse Biscayne was paired up against a Stock Appearing '70 LT-1 Corvette. I ended up beating him 2 outta 2. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

I also met L78Impala (Bill Maloney) and his buddy, who are BigCar lovers too. Nice guys ! Hope to see y'all at future events ! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

PS - Rob .... I got some more information on the Nickey Biscayne that "popped" up in conversation by one of the spectators ...... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

Casey:

What were your short times? Johnny & I watched you (from the line) run several times, and it looked like it was transferring it's weight VERY nicely. I just wasn't sure how a big car on coils & skinnies would react, but it looks like it works fine!

So, was the Marauder/Biscayne match-up early in the day a peak into a future "Big Cars Gone Bad" article? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Ummmm ..... errr ..... Short times ...... <yeh> ... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/rolleyes.gif

Anywhere from a 2.08 - best to a 2.4x something - worse. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif

In my feeble defense, this is only my second time racing a 4-speed car, so I have a BUNCH of learnin' to do. Rumor has it, that I'm just a pair of cowboy boots away from being able to rip gears ........ https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

...... and all this time, I thought that my checkboard Vans - Spicolli shoes, were the ticket ...... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
