This car has been for sale for over a year that I know of..
I sent the seller a few emails and never received a reply. I guess
the heads laying next to the car are the original heads from the car.
I find it kind of Strange that this is the Only Picture I have ever seen
of this car. I am just curious if it is in fact a real L78 car and if so,
is the engine original to the car….

I am "colosilverado" who posted the offer to take pictures of this car way back when. I signed up at that time with a work email address and no longer work at that place so I don't have the access to get whatever password I used. I decided to sign up again rather than go through the pains of trying to figure out how to remember or get my old password. I haven't checked out this board in quite some time due to alot of things, but I decided to check it out last night. Lo and behold, I came across this old thread. I know that this car isn't too big of a deal to most of you, but I thought I'd post again just because people were wondering about it. I had been checking the thread back when it was relatively new, but quit checking it after awhile because nobody seemed interested in any further pics.

Well, this car has always interested me because of my love for Camaros and 2nd gen in particular. Like I said, this car has been sitting in the same rough location since at least 1992, which is when I saw it first. It has moved relative to the building it sits outside, but that is it. It is still there as of today. I'll post pics or you can email me for them at [email protected]
Again, I have no personal knowledge of this car other than where it is. I don't have any interest in it other than helping people out if they want more pics or maybe more info. I'm heading out the door. I will post more pics in awhile. Here's one with Cool Cars Only in the background which, ironically, I never noticed was there until today.

..and it doesn't appear to be for sale on the Cool Cars only website any longer. I would think that their price on it is too high, regardless. If this car were to be original, what would it be worth if it has the original parts somewhere? If it is original, that will kill me because the poor thing has been sitting there outside for so long. Don't get me off on that tangent either. Hell, it kills me anyway, just because it is a cool car. It drives me nuts to see a car like that sit outside where rust can have it's way with her. There used to be a older couple close to where I used to live that had an original 70 SS 454 Chevelle that was column shift and bench seated. Well, it had SS stripes and such, but maybe it was a clone. I don't think an older couple would have cloned one though and I got the idea that it had been in the family for years. If it was an SS, I assume it was an LS5 car, but I was never able to talk to the husband who owned it.....just the wife. She didn't know anything about it other than it had appraised at $15000+ years ago. It was white with black stripes. I gave them my number and asked them to call me if they ever wanted to sell it, but my number changed and they moved. They had a 2 car garage and yet it sat outside while their mid 80's sedans got the garage. Seeing that thing covered in snow killed me.I tracked the car down a year or so later because they moved, too, and the car was sitting outside in the snow again. I just gave up at that point.
I saw a nice solid 71 or 72 Chevelle sitting buried in snow in a driveway today. Same with a 67 Camaro.
Too bad I'm not rich. I'd buy a huge warehouse and start rescuing these beauties so at least they don't die a gruesome death by rust. We keep losing our history. I know that it makes the remaining ones more valuable, but dang, I can never see too many cool cars in my lifetime. We need to save as many as we can. There are cars like this in practically every dang town, too. Sheesh.

Sorry for the rant.....it just kills me, ya know?

Wonder why people store a car like that and then ask a high selling price but never sell them....crazy.

Yeah, I would have to see what all they had for the car that was correct ( if it is a "real" car) before I was even remotely interested in it. What all did they put the 12 bolt in as far as Camaros that year? They went to the 10 bolt only in '71 right? I'll have to look. Heck, if it has sat there this long, maybe I'll buy it someday down the line. I've never been in the position to, so...;)

Get a look at the cowl tag and if it's a Norwood car it should have the L78 on it I think. 12 bolt would be a Z28, SS396 and I'm not sure if the SS350 still got it or not.
