Re: Carlisle pics
Wow I would love to hear more about Matt M's Nova. Has the window sticker actually been stuck on it from day one? Could Matt or somebody please elaborate a little more about this car? I would love to hear how it was found.

The window sticker is still mostly there. It also had on display a letter from Vince Piggins to NHRA which I think was telling NHRA Chevy is making enough TH400 L78 Novas for Super Stock (50) but will not make enough for stock class (500). Also a letter from Fred Gibb. Cool car see att

Re: Carlisle pics
The right person definetly has this car, Matt will take it to a show, fire it up and people almost run to see what's making all the noise. I was at the Year One open house, inside the office, and Matt came idling by in the Nova and the windows in YO shook similar to an earthquake. The car has the orig. M/T slicks, had a tow bar, and ± 17000 miles, most likely all 1/4 mile at a time! Awesome car.

Re: Carlisle pics
Thanks for the kind words about my Nova. It really is a cool car. The window sticker is original, however over the years, the sun has fadded it a bit, but you can still read Fred Gibb Chevrolet and the COPO 9738 option and all the prices and options. The story on the car that I heard is that it was towed to and from tracks around the Missouri area, and that is how the 16,000 miles got on it. The previous owner also told me that there has never been a plate taged to the car. It does still have some very fragile Mickey Thompson Slicks on it and the headers and traction bars are also original. The original electric fuel pump went out on it at Super Chevy, must have been the way Don Garlits was revving the motor , just kidding. We had to give it a repaint and some new interior pieces due to it's second owner parking it outside for some 25 years or so. All the metal is original and the complete drivetrain is original as well. I wish we could figure out if it spent any time at Dick Harrell's shop, because someone did a great job tuning this motor and carb setup. The reason for firing it up is simply because it has to be one of the best sounding cars I have ever heard, at idle and loping around in low gear. I asked Dennis Barker if he wants to go cruzin around at the Year One show, and he said, "Sure, I just wish we had a golf cart." I told him, "What for when you have a COPO, lets ride . . ." Re: Carlisle pics
Thanks again for the comments about this cool ride. Yes, it will be at the La Harpe Show and the Supercar Reunion, and other shows this summer. These cars stirred some [censored] in the 60's and 70's and it deserves the right to stir it again today
Kim, I got a copy of that tape from Dennis Hartweg and have looked at it many times, and it is amazing that it is the same car, but time and hard work by Bill Garren and others have certainly paid off, and here for a new generation to see and the old generation to remember. I don't think the new GMMG cars would have made the impact they have if it were not for my background in these great Muscle Cars. I have preached for a long time that these new cars have much of the old cars attraction in power and style, it just took someone crazy enough to dream up these ideas and we at GMMG have a lot of people to thank.
