If it is confidential, how do you know the content?

Lynn,

Your sense of humor is utterly brilliant. You have given me an idea to go and hit the bottle early today and then post perhaps later when I am up to it. goggles

No need to post Phil. I was being more of a smart a$$ than a fact finder with that post.

Weed Eaters

Be careful of the "weed eaters". Lots of them here in Houston push over 1000 horses.

I'm a bit surprised street racing is a problem in Dayton? I'm from Cinci and there are no shortages of tracks in and around the tri-city area. Kil-Kare, Edgewater, Tri-State, and we'd even hit National Trail once in a while as Columbus wasn't all that far.

Now living in Arizona, we had 2 tracks that served Phoenix. Speedworld closed several years back. Wildhorse, formerly known as Firebird, is closing next April so we only have a year to enjoy that one. Once that's gone there will be only one track that will serve the entire state of Arizona and that's down in Tucson. Over 400 mile round trip for me.

I suspect the street racing scene is going to rise in Arizona pretty soon.

x33, yeah a lot of tracks have been closing last few years...

RT66
Palm Beach
KCIR
Memphis
Englishtown
Byron is for sale

Luckly the owners of GLD are committed and have even spent money redoing the track recently with Kurt Johnson doing the work, which is awesome.

Milan was also on the chopping block but has awesome new owners who are keeping it going.

Sad to hear. Support'em if you can. They are nearly impossible to bring back once their gone.

Arizona's biggest issue is building these tracks on Indian Reservation land. Leasing the land is always a sketchy deal. It's not that they don't have enough participation for events. Ultimately it's up to the Indian Reservation whether they want to keep it going or not and most of us know what that means.

Back in the mid 60s I was stationed at Williams AFB ... we would race at Bee Line and PIR

That's cool

Yeah, Bee Line is another one that fell in the late 70's when the Indians didn't want to renew the land lease. You probably knew that already.

i have a rt10 viper 6 speed and it literally feels like you are driving on ice when you are hitting it full throttle. ive never had a car that i had to "drive" so hard as this one to keep it going in a straight line. it definately gets your adrenaline flowing hard. one other thing about it, is that you actually sit a little bit sideways because of the transmission tunnel which at least to me throws me off a bit.
