Looking through the photos here is the source evidence provided to Welday that led to the conclusion that they must have been crayoned.

Here is a pace car upon arrival. It obviously is tab marked to avoid confusion by ZONE personnel AND is pictured here wearing an apparently entirely different set of tires.

Not sure what you mean. The label reads to me like it was shipped from Firestone in Ohio to Firestone tire and Rubber Racing Division in Speedway City Indiana.

Literally everybody who was anybody was in the car. There is Harlen Fengler helping the Jan Cruse out of the car.

And this photo also likely shows the car again during the month of May Before the E gold letters were swapped on - still rolling on its original tires.
