A great follow up movie on Netflix SHELBY AMERICAN

Karen and I went Sunday and we both thought it was a great movie....definitely going to watch it again.

I watched Shelby American a few days earlier and it too was very good. It helped understand more about Carroll Shelby and the story behind Ford vs Ferrari a little more.

We should start a post about cool cars on junk trailers.

Annie suggested we go see it so Tuesday night we did just that, dinner and a movie. Great date night. All in all it was an excellent movie. Like others have said there were some time line issues and things out of place. Gave me a whole new respect for Ken Miles however. Great mechanic, driver and friend for Shelby. My only real complaint was how some of the events were so embellished for the screen or never happened in the first place. That I can do without as I was hoping this was more of a documentary type movie than a drama movie but needless to say, it was still an excellent movie and one I am sure I will see many times again.

My Wife and I went to see it today. Excellent movie and not just for car people, great story line. My Wife and I really enjoyed it.

I saw Ford vs. Ferrari and then watched the Shelby American movie on Netflix. To be honest I enjoyed the Netflix movie as much, maybe more, than Ford vs. Ferrari.
I had no idea that Carroll Shelby was such an accomplished driver.

Went last night with my 19 yo stepson who's into cars. He absolutely loved it, and said he wants to buy it when it comes out on DVD. I liked it too, but thought it was maybe a little too long. I was only minorly familiar with the story so when Ken Miles died only a few months after his magnificent driving at Le Mans, it was like a punch in the gut. And on top of his amazing driving skills, Ken Miles was an interesting character to say the least (if played accurately by Cristian Bale), and it was really cool to see that he was much like the early NASCAR drivers who built the cars they drove and weren't just hired guns. And I know that above in this thread someone mentioned that Leo Beebe wasn't exactly like he was played (great performance by Josh Lucas as well), but sheesh, that guy came across like a major corporate climber and bully.
I think the best part of the movie is that there were some really good actors who did some really good work making the movie very professional and with good character development and story-telling. I think they probably could have done some better work with the CGI or whatever they used for the racing scenes. They weren't bad, just didn't seem that realistic in some scenes. Overall, very good movie.
Oh, and Miles wife seemed like quite an interesting person as well.

Saw the movie, watched The 24 Hour Lemans, watched Shelby American they were all good. Read the book "Go Like Hell" its the best by far. Larry
