Back in the Day Two Era, no one I can remember in our area kept the smog on their Z28s, not saying that it didn't happen.......Kool Z28!

I can vividly remember in 1977 going to WLA Racing(Super Shops) and plunking down 39.95 for a set of Hedman Hedders, stripping the mani's and smog off my 73RS Z, and pitching it in the trash can. Who knew!

Mark,
My first car was a 73 Z/28 with no stripes or spoilers and I did the exact same thing. Then I saw a 1969 Z/28 at the March meets the next year and I had to have one.

Too funny, mine was a non D80 RS! That was tail end of high school for me. A few guys had 69Z's but you didn't see as many seconds gen Z's because they were still pretty new and big bucks- like 2500.00 V 1500.00 for a 69;) Can't believe you still have this car..

Oh no I have had a bunch of 1969 camaros since the first one. I am still trying to find the perfect one for me. I keep going between original and restored and I am never 100% happy with either.

Always a tough call.. think I've been a caretaker of at least 25 Fbod's to date. Hey if you're free on the weekend of the 16-17th my 70Z that Rick restored is going sat afternoon at Mecum Anaheim.. you would dig it!

I would say a nice 69 L78 car. Do what I did, NO frame off just a real good repaint and you can clean the frame, engine bay and floors yourself. I like original interiors if possible. That way there are no rattles or issues like with a frame off. Original wiring in good shape you are golden.
Then you can drive and enjoy your car like it should be especially in Southern Cal.

Mark,
I will be there and look forward to seeing your 1970 Z/28. Everything I have heard it is one of the best and the more you look at it the better it gets.
