My uncles 56 was painted around 67. The scallops are a candy tangerine with gold leaf splattered in it. It still looks awesome today. Sorry for the crappy pictures.

I'm having a hell of a time trying to figure out exactly what the guy did to paint this '69, but I kinda like the look....

Quain's Southeastern Gassers have lots of gold leaf, candy's, lace, scollops, etc....
FWIW if the Southeastern Gassers are anywhere near any of ya'll it's worth the trip. They were in Knoxville this past weekend and Alabama next weekend. They run A/gas - D/Gas 1967 rules, clutch shifted 4 speeds no autos, must appear period correct, no electronics, 10,000 RPM wheelstand launches, protree, first one to the finish line wins. |
