Re: 1970 Black on Black W-31 4 speed
Thanks, glad to see that there are some Olds aficionados out there
I hooked up with owner #2, who purchased the car directly from Elmer back in the late 1980s when he was 18 years old. So the chain of ownership is now complete. Both he and Elmer have some back in the day pics, they are going to scan and send. I'll post them when I get them. |

Hard to say what wheels look the best. Dog-dish really look "muscular", and "tough". Have you tried any 15" Chrome SSl? I REALLY like that car! Great docs, too!

Re: 1970 Black on Black W-31 4 speed
Hi guys. My name is Dan and I am the 2nd owner...lol. I bought the car in 1988 from the original owner and sold it around 1991 or 1992. Those last 2 pics posted of it were from me. The one with the Keystone Classics is from 1989 and the one with the Rally wheels is from May 1991. I loved that car and wish I still had it. My first car was a 1972 Cutlass S. I'm glad the new owner contacted me and glad to be updated on the cars whereabouts. I will continue to monitor this thread and will answer any questions if anyone has any.

Re: 1970 Black on Black W-31 4 speed
Thanks to all the former owners, friends and family for helping put the chain of ownership back together.
Elmer was approx 19 when he bought it new and Dan was approx 18 years old. They both sound like they had lots of fun and adventure with the car. This one survived with all of its original drivetrain and most of the original bolt on components. The 8-track player was added as was the rear Wing. These W-Machines are very difficult at times to document and even with the broadcast card showing W-30 or W-31 it won't prove whether or not it was a manual or an automatic and only has the body number / trim tag to tie it to the car. Welcome Dan. He's had some other very Kool cars and sold this one to get a '69 Chevelle. |
