David Nicoll US Marshall's Super Car Auction
 

David Nicoll purchased his car collection with the blood of others – literally. During his time as president of BLS, the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office maintain that Nicoll received $33 million in payments from a medical blood test bribery scheme that he personally ran for seven years, and which netted more than $100 million in total revenue. Per prosecutors, BLS would bribe physicians to send their patients for medical tests which were oftentimes unnecessary, to be paid for by insurers. Far from being sly and frugal with his ill-gotten profits, Nicoll was an extravagant spender. It’s on record that he spent $154,000 at a gentleman’s club, over $400,000 on sports tickets, $700,000 on an apartment for his “female companion,” and, most importantly, over five million dollars on cars.

Nicoll, however, did not spend that five-million dollars of blood money on new gold-coated Lamborghinis or diamond speckled Rolls-Royces (although his automobile collection did include a few Ferrari models). Instead, the bulk of his money was spent on some of the finest, rarest, and most coveted muscle cars ever created, and the inventory list of the A.J. Willner auction reads like a “best of” list for the years 1967-1970. For sale are a 1967 Shelby G.T. 500, a 1969 Yenko Nova, a 1969 Yenko Camaro, a 1969 Yenko Chevelle, a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 L78/L89 convertible; and a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429.

Stefano, sorry about any confusion concerning what I said about &quot;original docs.&quot; I assumed it was a known car and don't know all of the intricacies about the converted versus non-converted cars. </div></div>

There have been other Novas which had similar info and believed by some to be converted 427 Cars, which later turned out to have been, non converted, based on info shared by original owners.

I had just never seen any proof that this particular Nova had been converted.

A letter from Vince stating that, based on the records he has it recieved a 427 conversion, would go a long way, IMHO.

Since all these cars were purchased by money scammed from Insurance companies,(money paid by you and me in premiums) I believe each and every one of us should be able to take these cars out and drive the $hit out them at least once. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/dunno.gif[/img]

Do the Vince Emme records for the other Novas say anything different on their certificates when it comes to documented 427 versus 396 cars?

The Nova being retailed by V.V. Cooke adds to the chances it was a converted car, if sold unconverted wouldn't it be more likely to have been sold by Yenko?
Sure it could've been dealer traded but being it went to a dealer in the Yenko network only seems to strengthen the converted side of the debate?

It certainly strengthens the case Pete. Lots of $$ though &amp; tough call without original owner statement or paperwork. Like Stefano pointed out.....what if the original owner shows up with a non-converted statement?
