Re: 34.2 Mile 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 Video
Thanks Kevin for another great video.
The open rear end would be no good in the snow. Cool to see a car with no miles, but what about the cars feelings, don't you think she wants a good run every once on a while? Ryan |
Re: 34.2 Mile 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 Video
you're right Ryan, she probably would like a good run, stretch her legs alittle. But truth be told, that car will never really be enjoyed for what it was built for. it will get more miles put on it from bouncing from collector to collector, 35 miles and half 1/2 dozen or more owners. its all about the $$$$$$$ now. That's a shame for something like that to just sit. That's like buying a nice Harley and parking it your garage and then standing by it so people can see you have it. What does letting it sit get ya? More money? Heck, who needs more money.
I like the car. There's a guy riding around here in the Dover area that has the same car but with the 396, faded original red paint and all, no rust, 4 speed. Knew him from my USAF days in the 70's. He bought it new and was still driving it up to a few years ago. There is also a hot blonde chick from Maryland that would bring an LS5 or 6 to a friend of mines speed shop for tuning twice a year. Nice car. |
Re: 34.2 Mile 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 Video
one thing for sure, you can't take the car or the money with ya, might as well have some fun with it. i will guarantee if i had it, it wouldn't have 34.2 miles on it for long, I'd drive the you know what out of it. its like having a wife or girl friend with low miles and just looking at her, were is the fun in that. to each his own, there loss. Amazing the amount of people that think it should be driven. There are very few low mile cars around to learn from. This car is one of those cars.

Re: 34.2 Mile 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 Video
Just noticed that the front grill "Chevelle" script emblem is missing.
Why would Chevrolet forget to put that on? |

The LS6 is hardly a rare car - there are others out there that can be driven. |
Re: 34.2 Mile 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 Video
I think I agree with Charley on this one. When driving, too many BAD things can possibly happen to a GOOD car. Once it is hit or is involved in anything negative, it is no longer what it is now. The Brothers have amassed one of the best collections in the world concerning our kind of cars. I applaud them for doing so and for preserving history.
And...finally, the truth about build quality is coming to the surface. Many of us who are/were in the car business know the real truth---not the "Johnny come latelies" who THINK they do! |
Re: 34.2 Mile 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 Video
I doubt that the car would be safe to drive very much without changing belts and hoses. I don't think I would trust the brakes either.
