Re: 69 L78 Chevelle, original, unrestored except paint
Hey TDW (Tony) I feel your pain. About 8 or so years ago, I made a handshake deal on two cars, (one was mine, the other was a good friend's) with the owner of a certain large auction house. His buyer looked the cars over for hours, we agreed on a price for the pair, and shook hands with a phone confirmation form the auction house owner. Well, Sunday morning the car hauler shows up with two checks for $30k less than we agreed to---$15,000 per car. Needless to say, I told him to GTFO!!! I ended up paying my friend the agreed upon price for his car because that's how sure I thought the deal was. I didn't want his car, but I am a man of my word---unlike the person I refer to above.

Due to the emails and requests for the MacNeish Certified document, it has been added to the listing.

Congrats Tony. It looked like a hell of a car. I'm sure the sale is bittersweet.... Troy

Bill, I think almost everyone that inquired about the car watchs those shows, along with "Counting Cars" and "Ass-Monkey Garage". When i get some time, I'm going to do a "rant" about some of these guys that wanted the car. |
Re: 69 L78 Chevelle, original, unrestored except paint
I pointed a guy named Joe from Ft. Lauderdale your direction, he was looking for a L78 for his dad. Did it go to Florida?
