Re: '70 SS Chevelle
Couple of updates as I have received some parts from the US in the last week or so. I have also had the carb rebuilt by a local guy. The plan is to give the engine a bit of a service in the next couple of weeks with new plugs, leads, oil and filters then take it back to him for a tune.
My reconditioned booster and prop valve turned up today from Steve Gregori @ Brake Boosters and I couldn't be more pleased with them both. He's certainly turns out first class work. Highly recommended. I plan on fitting them along with the correct '70 style master and new brakes lines, over the xmas break. http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...ps59736b3d.jpg Last week after more than a 12 month wait, my interior fabric and vinyl arrived from SMS. The only recommendation for these clowns I could offer is that they are the company that reproduces the 762 fabric closest to the original. Other than that, they are a disaster to deal with. Hopefully some of the other companies can step up and accurately make some of the harder to find stuff so the next guy can avoid these people altogether. Anyways, the seat are booked in with the trimmer for early January. http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...ps11167253.jpg |

Re: '70 SS Chevelle
Very nice. How long was the turnaround time for Steve Gregori's work?

Re: '70 SS Chevelle
I spent a couple of days last week doing some engine bay clean up that was long overdue. I started with a good pressure wash of the bay and front end to rid it of some nasties from the repaint and also the build up of a few years of driving, both here and in Washington state, where the car came from. Made a pretty decent difference. I then pulled the exhaust manifolds, blasted them with the new cabinet I bought, painted them with cast iron VHT paint, replaced the donuts and refitted. I also pulled the power steering lines and replaced them with new pieces and bled the system. Pretty straight forward process.
http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...psb17fa298.jpg I now have myself a new helper too! http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7c412646.jpg One blasted, one to go. http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...ps351f898f.jpg Manifolds painted and back in place, lines replaced. http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6c75d8c9.jpg Good help, hard to find! This week I'm moving on to the new booster and master set up I have from Brake Boosters. |
