It looks like a made up car to me. Notice the hood and top of header panel and top of fenders have newer green paint yet the rest of the car is rusty and faded. Heater box was taken off and painted over and put back on, motor looks mocked up. Steering wheel, underdash gauges, and other tell tale items are some of the easiest added pieces on any car. I hope I am wrong because I love seeing Motion cars coming out of the woodwork but the car looks like it was made to be a teaser to sell it easily.

Looks like a mechanical hanging on the block, anything out back?

That's an awful lot of work to be "a teaser". I'd like to see the wheel caps up close, not many of those 40 yr old units in good shape. As far as the the hood paint goes, don't forget the hood was repainted to match the car's original color, fender tops may have been blended in as well along with the sport mirrors.

I hope its real as I think most if not all of us do. Matt does bring up some good points though.

trader1, care to share any more info with us? More pictures?

my understanding is that the car still retains it's original 3.31 non posi rear, so one would have to question if (or why) a 427 Motion car would have been built without a rear gear & posi conversion too.

The hood is fiberglass so it of course wont give off the same aged look as metal fenders that can surface rust.

Re: So was this a Motion Chevelle?

The top of the header panel (not the bottom part of the header panel over the grille) and the top of the fenders. No where else is the paint so nice. If the car was aged completely together, you wouldn't have that. Just my opinion as there are quite a few of "never was" cars that have been "done up" and aged to fool buyers.
