Re: My Dog "Jax" passed away today.
Sorry to hear of your loss. A friend shared this with me when one of our pets passed and it helped us to deal with our loss. My intention is it helps to support you as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~ To you who fills my life with joy and in whom I have placed my trust I ask for but a few kindnesses. Count me as a member of the family,feeding me when I am hungry And giving me a warm and comfortable place to sleep. Keep me safe from harm so I will have no cause of fear,and tenderly care for me when I am sick. Let me know by your voice and touch that you love me, for your love is what sustains me. Find time to play with me and time to let me lie quietly by your side. And when I grow old and my days are few, comfort me,treat me gently and humanely and please don't let me suffer loneliness, indignities or pain. And when I have gone, think of me and of the friendship and happiness we have shared. Do not be sad, smile at the memories. And share with me the ultimate peace I have found in knowing and loving you. |
Re: My Dog "Jax" passed away today.
Oh Dan, that's terrible to hear and my heart really does go out to you. My last dog loss was so bad that I'm not even sure of when I would even want another one. Buy I'll tell 'ya . . . . I've personally never had a Black Lab in particular but I know several people that only had just simply awesome things to say about them. I'll leave you with this . . . . . I have one friend that was so close to his Black Lab before it passed that he named his first-born child after that dog! His wife, whom he met after the dog's passing, still has no idea that her child is named after a dog and I'm not gonna be the one to ever tell her!
Re: My Dog "Jax" passed away today.
----Dan,,,Jan and I never had kids so pets seem to sort of gain even more prominence with us. I am right there with you. You wont have a day you wont think of him. But dont worry, they will all be GOOD thoughts of the many wonderful times your family had with him, and even more important, all the good times he had with you and yours. In relation to Marks post, Terry Carney, may God rest his soul, loved one of his dogs (Shantzy) so much he named his daughter after that dog. Caring and loving has no boundries.......Bill S
Handsome boy! Sasha is a looker too! Good doggies!!!! My one yr old yellow lab, Abby, cocks her head like Jax all the time. She is trying really, really hard to understand our human gibberish.
Re: My Dog "Jax" passed away today.
Dan, sorry for the loss of your dog Jax. I care more about my pets than most people. They take you as you are with unconditional love forever. My wife and I have been married for almost 35 years and had 3 miscarriages and have no children. Our pets have been our family and we have had 9 pets total with 2 left. Skip is 10 and from a shelter. Skylar is almost 3 and my brother found him walking on a busy street at 4 months old. I'm glad we're friends and you need to enjoy the many great years and memories you've had with Jax.
Could not have said that better myself. Our dog is there the moment he senses something is wrong. When he is bad he begs for forgiveness and does not attempt to place blame on 'someone' else. He never argues or fights with us. When strangers approach he goes and sits between us and them until he is comfortable. He sleeps in bed with us and cannot possibly get any closer to us and sometimes even pushes us out of bed. He never takes sides. Absolute unconditional love. There is a reason they call them "Man's best friend"! Hang in there Dan. When you least expect it, another "Jax" will come into your life and take over where the original left off. Been there, done that MANY times. I miss all my pets, no too were alike and none were loved any more than the other. |
