the bell housings are interchangable. I have the 11" set up in my Z right now with the 403 housing. The set up in the old days was the 11" pressure plate with the 10.5" L-88 disc. That worked real good. M, put the set up you want to run in the car. Your kid will NOT burn that clutch up. He will drive that nova like a champ in 20 minutes or so. He looks to be dialed in to me. Why do double work?

Just trying to control costs a bit - figured why put an expensive unit in there first just to get it burned up! I'll order it from GM Parts Direct and be done with it, we are hoping to be able to fire it up later this year.

It's a right of passage for any gear head who wrenches on his own car. If you've never burnt a clutch and had to hump out the trans from your back then you can't call yourself a gear head.

The inexpensive unit will be the sacrificial lamb.
