Yeah, well maybe I got a detail or two mixed up https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif but I do remember that the 8 cylinder version of this car can do 200 mph - aviators goggles recommended! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/tongue.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

I talked with the owner of this 72 Formula 350, he has owned it for 24 years. He was picking up restoration parts before he ships it to his home in Hawaii ... He had the window sticker still, unopened owners manuals, ownercard, etc. Fairly rare 4 speed posi, a/c, etc, $1200+ worth of options when new, ~ $4600 sticker price ...

From the looks of the grille I would say that car is a '73 and not a '72.

You're both right. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
It's a 72 with 73 grills. It has the original 72 radiator support and fenders still, so he's real lucky. Those are some really hard parts to find.

Re: Pavillions: 30 Jan 2010

FYI, 72 was the 1st year of the larger egg crate grille, same as the Camaros ...

"Spotter's Guide
1972 Firebird

1972 was a very dark year for the Firebird. General Motors considered dropping the Firebird line all together. Sky high insurance rates for high performance cars and the government's crackdown on such vehicles gave GM even more reason to consider such an option. Because of GM's uncertainty on the Firebird, there were very few technical or visual changes.
On the Outside there were only a few changes. Most noticeable was the new stretched honeycomb grill, which matched the Honeycomb wheels."

Same for the Camaro:

"1972 Spotters Guide and New Features

Chevy continued to refine the Camaro but due to a 174 day strike beginning on April 7, no cars left Norwood Ohio, which was the only plant producing the F-body. When the strike ended, 1100 partially completed cars were scrapped or donated to vocational schools since it would be too expensive to modify them to conform to stricker '73 bumper & emission regulations. It is estimated that 39,000 camaros and firebirds weren't built, worth an estimated $125 Million to dealers .... and the '72's got: Coarser grille mesh ..."

http://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/camaro72.php

the entire car is original (including the grilles), the bumper fits perfectly, just has weather issues

He IS looking for an original front lower valance though ...
