Xplantdad you were never part of the thread so it should be easy for you to move on.

Jason you did help a little but I think maybe you had no further interest in helping after you figured out I had little interest and paying $200 on a hunk of crap that I can make for $20 and a trip to Radio Shack. I found a schematic that gave me a little insight to what’s in this little magical box. A couple of capacitors, a relay, a couple of batteries. Its nothing but a protection circuit for the gauge, and your right without it I would fry the gauge. The signal from the coil does nothing more then activate the relay. The batteries run the gauge. What I cannot figure out is why they did not use a 555 timer circuit instead, that’s right they did not invent that yet. Anyways no hard feelings and don't hate me because I am a Mopar guy...

PS I ran spell check just for the professor

Wait, so I didn't answer you in less than a day and because of that I was not willing to help? Give me a break. I have now decided not to help because you are being rude to other members and I. I do not have a repair schematic for a 990 transmittion but I can tell you the one you have is wrong. A 990 sender does not use batteries, a EB sender does among other things.

Jason, it's all good. He's probably fixing his 1998 Acura Integra right now anyways...LOL
