I had one almost just like this one - Red 1967 SS 396 Camaro convertible except mine wasn't an RS. TH400 auto, PDB, power top. Used it to finance my divorce back in 1980. Money well spent! |

This should look familiar to anyone who has done a road trip from the north to the south. Xmas break from college (Dec. 1969 to Jan 1970), my buddy Al and I drove from Boston, MA to Miami, FL in his 1969 Chevelle SS 396. 10 day trip. Made the stop at South Of The Border to eat lunch on the way down. |

Chrysler forecasted that they would sell 5000 A12 (440+6) Road Runners and Super Bees. Unfortunately, because they went to Edelbrock for the 3x2 Aluminum Intake Manifold, and Edelbrock was a limited production company, the demand for the manifold overwhelmed Edelbrock who only was able to produce about 3500 units. 3,384 units went into production cars and the remainder went into stock. |

The 1962 Thunderbird Sports Roadster was given the final green light by . . . Lee Iacocca . . . who was car marketing manager for Ford at the time. The Sports Roadster was an attempt to make the Thunderbird look sleeker, smaller and provide a sportier example of the T-Bird that harked back to the mid-1950s two-passenger versions. |
